Can't drive it... its broken...:D I don't know whats wrong, but it doesn't involve a radio, so no ride for me..... The blowers have been getting a workout over the last few weeks, this is the third one that has been trucked into the yard in the last few days... They are getting shuffled right in and right back out.

On a side note, the state bought two brand new International Paystar tandem rear twin screws with front drive set up by Henderson.... They have spent the last 5 months in and out of repair. The trucks are set up with benching wings, reversables and large spreaders with pre wet and spray systems. Seems to be all small electrical problems with the up fit. They are running force america hydro systems. Nothing mechanical from what I can tell, just lots of time spent with wiring harness being pulled out of the channels.

I believe this Oshkosh is at least 30 years old....

Howard, the Town I sub to has a fleet of Internationals and the 4x4s are always breaking down. Last night two were down for front axles. A brand new rig was sitting in one bay just back from the dealer with a siezed transfer case. The down time on these trucks is ridiculous.

I was at the Highway Garage yesterday and got a little more info on the IH trucks. They were working on another one that went down on the storm we had Monday. The front drive set up is manufactured by Marion, and it seems the weak point is the ring gear in the front axle. For some reason they break teeth off them all the time. The Town has two old FWDs and I asked about them, they told me those old things never break down! Those trucks are over 25 years old and work every storm.

Town next door to us has a IH 4x4 with the Marmon conversion and they too have had continuous issues with it.
