Guys,

Just wanted to pass on something.... While kinda sitting in a waiting mode for what is suppose to be coming to the Northeast some time soon... I decided to clear off my deck... well I decided to use the Electric power shovel by Toro that I got on Ebay last year for my wife to keep her from complaining to me about having to do some shoveling while I am out plowing for a day or 2 at a time....

Well, for personal home use... wooden decks.. and walkways...

It works pretty good.... ..My only concern is how long the plastic wheel that they used will last and if I can get replacement parts should it break..... but other than that I am impressed... just wanted to pass it on....

Seeing since a lot of us are hanging out waiting for the Nor'easter to start....

I have both the gas version and electric version of the toro power shovel...had the electric first, not bad. once i got the gas version, the electric hasnt seen work since. If you can find one, the gas version is extremely efficient and way more powerful than the electric version. Great for sidewalks and other walkways.

ZR,

As weight is an issue for my wife.... early arthritis and carpo tunnel.... how much more does the gas weigh....

I just weighed myself, and then again with the gas & electric in hand. Gas weighs roughly 15-17lbs w/ a nearly full tank and electric is right around 10-12lbs. But...the gas has a nice carrying handle on it down near the head of it as well. Not to mention, it is a little heavier so when you push it, it doesnt float on top of the snow, it just chews through it. Hope it helps. Check e-bay as they have the gas powershovels on their from time to time. thats the only place i was able to find it.

Funny you brought this up, Pete. There is one sitting in my garage right now, my father-in-law bought it at a garage sale for my wife. She's always complaining that our driveway is the last to get done, so she's going to use the power shovel:haha LOL. I said great, then I will have a nice clean driveway when I come home. I can't wait to see this :D Mike

I paid $60 for the gas model. (I got the electric at a garage sale - $20! worth every penny for what it does.)
