So do you salt with the ice storm that is taking place at night?? Or wait it out till early morning before they open up. I know that at times like last April ice storm I had to salt then leave, come back and plow up all the lose ice, then salt it all again...

If you put it down early it will be more likely to keep the ice from bonding so you CAN scrape it off. If you let it build up it can be a long and expensive process to get to bare pavement again.
