No plans for a plow unless we can come up with an account specifically for it. Some type of a large subdivision road or something like that.

Currently we are marketing it as an offroad transport hauler. We've talked with all the local lumber yards and things are looking good for hauling lumber to remote building sites. A 1,500 gallon water tank that fits in the dump should be showing up in the next couple of weeks so we have also advertised it as a offroad water tanker.

The current truck my partner and I have been using to haul equipment around is in need of a good retirement plan (junkyard), so it will double as our equipment truck also.

Considering the capabilities of this truck the price tag was extremely reasonable, just under $13K totally referbished, including new paint, three position jake brake, aux cab heater, water tank, semi hitch (requires removing dump), complete extra set of wheels and tires and a deep water forging kit. Originally it was scheduled to ship to us in early November, but the builder had a hard time tracking down the jake brake. Once he found it, and got it installed, the shipping company he uses went out of business, so we borrowed a tandem dump from another contractor along with his trackhoe trailer and we drove to Utah to get it. Acutally saved about $700 by going and getting it ourselves.

Andy, I'm moving to Colorado! Not really, but that is exactly what I have been looking for. Do you know of any more than are original, in need of refurbishing?

Theres one jus like that without the dump, instead a concrete block down at my local Home Depot lot for sale. It does have a plow, I'll try to get a picture for yall, its seen its days.

There is a website goverment liqudators.com or something like that that is basically just like e-bay, but the goverment runs it. You can bid on all kinds of military stuff. We opted to go with a re-furbished because we figured the labor of doing it ourselfs would be more expensive than having somebody that has worked on them before.

Phoenix - It's straight diesel, but we were told that if you get into a bind, throw some Kerosen in it to get you home. Hopefully we never get to that point.

The govliquidation is a cool site, but you didn't get yours from there did you ? Most of the ones I have looked at on there are always in the H7 category (I think) which need some decent work. Yours looks too nice to be in that group ! Good Luck with it !
There is another site URL=http://www.joeyoung.com/]Joe Young[/URL] that does some refurbing on them. Not sure what they cost, but he's in New Jersey so maybe some of the guys on here know a bit more about that place.

Rob,
Got ours from a guy in Salt Lake City. We went a looked at and couple that were up for auction, but they did not have what we were looking for. Some of the stuff that the goverment is decommissioning is in pretty poor shape. We found a couple of 2-1/2 tons that were in fairly good shape, but still needed lots of work to suite our needs.

If you can, do about 80% heating oil, 20% kerosene. That will work on almost any diesel. Multifuels will burn almost ANYTHING except jet fuel!! Underpowered as they sit, but if you pick a fuel and re-tune for JUST that fuel you can get a fair amount more power out of them.
