I know this is the wrong forum but I thought I might get faster help also posted under Meyers/Diamond forum

Help I have a Meyer E-47 that is working really slow. I got in the truck and it had went up and left perfectly and down. Then I went to put it up again and it went up like two inches then wouldn't go. I waited two minutes and it went up again about another inch and had to wait again and kept doing that until it was all the way up. right and left angle had worked the same way. I added fluid and after working it for a while it started working fine. Now there are no visible leaks and this had also happened the second storm I plowed. Worked fine for the third and now when I checked everything tonight for tomorrow night it happened again. I am thinking that it was so cold tonight and the last time that something may have frozen is this possible it doesn't look like there is any water in the pump.

Sorry for the long discription but I wanted it to be thorough.
I appreciate any and all ideas and help

Thank you very much
Dan

I would drain all of the fluid out of the pump and cahnge the filters for starters, sounds like you have a blockage or water in your pump, or some stuck valves. How often do you change your fluid?

I changed the fluid in the middle of the summer before the old setup went onto the new truck. I wouldn't think it could have picked up water already but maybe it has been very cold and it is a pump from early 90's with no new seals.

Can I get away with only changing the pump fluid or should I also do the cylinders? I don't want to take to much apart for tomorrow night hopefully we'll be plowing.

I would either bring the pump in the house or put some kind of heater in front of it, get the pump temp around 55-70 deg and pull the strainers and drain plug, clean the strainers in diesel/kero/acetone and reinstall, fill up with blue hydraulic fluid not atf

talked to a meyers tech
he suggests using meyers yellow
works better in cold weather because it doesnt
contain parafin wax .just flushed my e-60
and put the yellow oil in hopfully it works
