I had my first problem with my 810 the other day. I was angling towards the passenger side with the lead wing extended when I hit a raised manhole cover. I was going slow as I knew it was there some where but the wing instead of folding back as it should seemed to fold the other way (towards the middle of the plow).
When I tried to pull the wing back in it stayed extended(scoop position) even tho it could still move. Took it to the shop and found out that it had slipped out of it`s channel. When we tried to bend it back I was surprised at how thin the metal seemed to be in this area. We bent the metal back in order to get it back working and it seems to be fine for now. From now one I will not extend the wing all the way in the scoop position in order to avoid this happening again. Anyone else had this problem and is there maybe something that I bent inside because we really had to bend the metal alot in order to get the wing back into it`s channel. I will try and post pics if you do not understand what I mean.

Thats interesting:huh At least you could continue plowing, it would just be like having a set of pro wings on one side!

So much for the thread about the trip action of the blade with the wings deployed. Seems like there was alot of talk about how the wigns are designed to flow back if the blade needs to trip.
Obviously this did not happen for whatever reason.
Is the wing damage or the main blade? If they were pro wings you would be replacing one wing, but in this case if the balde is damaged that is huge.
Thanks for keeps us updated as my interested in a 810 continues but the PRO PLUS ultra mount and redesigned MVP's are looking pretty tuff. Nice to hear both sides. Although there seems to be a common response in any and most all reports of damge, "At least you could still plow with it" not sure what this is implying.

I was told the wing would trip when moving forward , only catching the wing on something while backing is supposed to cause damage ??

The wings do trip back very easily but this time because I had the plow angled to the right and the lead wing on the left out I think that the back part of the wing hit the manhole cover. This caused the wing to hyper extend itself and pop out of the channel. In the future I will not put the wing out all the way and this will hopefully avoid this problem. And yes I was still able to plow with nit because I could still use the scoop position or angle the snow to the right. The left wing was stuck in the scoop position even tho I could pull the wing in and out. It took just over an hour to fix, but I did have to go back to the shop, to hard to do in the field. To bloody cold also:eek: Still love the plow tho, it`s worked very hard up until now without any problems. I have hit things harder then this before thats why I was suprised it caused damage:confused:

Bonzai,
It sounds like the wiper on the back of the wing popped out over the slide box. The original design had a metal bracket that pivoted with the wing and was held on with a pop rivet. The new design has a welded on plate.
On the old design if the pop rivet broke the plate could catch on the back of the slide box and create the problem you described.
It is possible to have the clearances on the new style to be so close that the wing can pop out of the slide box but a quick fix with a pry bar to increase the clearance should eliminate the problem in the future so you can fully extent the wing.
The plate is there to keep the snow from getting in the slide box when back dragging that's why it is just a piece of 1/8" matl. I know there has been talk of extending the length of the angle on the inside to eliminate this for next year.

Jerre
Thanks for the input, that is exactly what we did and I ran the plow for the rest of the day with no problems. I will probably bend the other side out a bit as it is very close to catching also. Thanks for your help.:drinkup
