We've all sean each others trucks now lets see some pics of shop setup/work yards. I am sure some of you guys have a nice setup. Mine is 25X60 ft shop not quite big enough bt it keeps all my equipment secure and dry. I'd like to build a bigger one in a year or so that I can also fit both plow trucks in as well.

another service truck and shop in background close to 1100 square feet and not enough i have everything i need to get the job done the addtion i built 4yrs ago is a paint booth with a homemade downdraft venting system works very well and have turned out some really nice paint work. The shop floors are heated with a boiler thats used wood or propane to heat. I just purchased 5 acres of property the new shop will begin contruction in the spring it will be 10 bays 5 will be used to house some of my trucks and will include a area for a small kitchen and sleeping quarters for long storms showers and bathrooms The rest will be used for my automotive repair buss really getting excited to have a combo use building one stall will also have all the ness equipment for washing and detailing the trucks after plow runs.
Grasshopper,
Nice shop, employee's look like you found their pic on uglypeople.com though! :D
But I don't see the x60' part. Do you mean metric something? Looks like a 25x25 with a side lean-to.
Reason I ask, is I have a similar garage and am looking to lengthen it to something near 60'.

Fred,
Nice Set-up!! and your new shop sound even sweeter!!
Grasshopper,
whats the condition of that salt pile ? do you load by hand? looking at a similar set-up.
some of you may have seen my post on steel building in the off topic forum. i'm looking to build a shop as well.
if you dont have pic, what size building for what equipment. too small or big enough?

Approx 1,700 sq feet - I still have to pour a floor and finish hanging a bunch of drywall in the large bay. It's a pain to work on equipment due to the gravel floor, but at least its warm.

Looks like some nice setups there. I wish I had even half the tools that Fred has!
TLS: you are right, its about 25 X 25 with a 12 ft leanto. I was meaning to say I wanted to build a 25 X 60 or so that way I can fit a couple plow trucks in to keep them out of the elements.
Got snow: That is actually a sand\salt mixture. It was leftover from last year, but had to be mixed in with the new stuff this fall when I ordered it. I built it out of railway ties, with rebar going through the whole thing. It works good, last year I just had it dumped in a pile but it spreads out so wide when you start loading it. It is about 15 by 15 and maybe 2 1/2 ft tall.. It holds about 14 yards of sand\salt mix. We only go through maybe 30 yards total all winter at the most. It doesn't get loaded by hand, I use my bobcat which is stored in the shop.
Keep the pics coming, I want to see more:D
Here is mine. Bpt machine, Lathe, MIG, TIG, tubing bender...etc.

You can count on pictures heck iam super pumped for this new building its almost as much excitment has when my kids were born lol .
I have set down with two diff contractors and there design men for this ihave got it set has well has poss two doors will be 16 because of future plans, it is also gonna be set up with a hocraft downdraft paint booth , i guess the best part to me is being able to store the trucks indoors has i have had alot of trouble keeping the trucks scattered threw town and not knowing if there being used strictly for my operation , Has far has a overhead crane has of right know no can always add later iam looking at nearly half of million to turn the key which with that will include inside equipment ie paint booth, 4 9,000 lb hoists and a pit and of course all the office and living quarters so gonna have myself a pretty good stroke for a few years lol.

Bonzai, I think I saw your partner Thursday night getting gas at the Petro Canada at Bayview/16th. I was sitting in the Tim's parking lot having a break. Not sure if it was him because I've seen a few Jeep's around.

Probably not him, we deal with Esso and there is one right across the road. How are you liking this winter so far. I have had enough, we have been out almost every day since the beginning of the year:( , never for lots of snow but 2-3 centimetres each night, it`s getting on my nerves now as we have allm contracts. Salt is extra tho so that helps, peole do get pissed with the high salt bills tho. Crazy business, damned if you do and damned if you don`t:headwall

OK guys you can stop posting those pictures of those nice clean shops. If my wife sees this thread I know what I'm going to have to do this weekend.
Those are great shots, and no, my shop is not a mess.:)
