sometimes the plow creaps down others it stays up fine, happening more lately, so I took the A valve out, the o rings look good, solinoid had magnetism when I pushed button, am i susposed to be able to move anything on the valve itself when I had it out? because nothing I could touch on the A valve would budge or is the movement inside the valve? Thanks for any help! also if new A valve is needed should solinoid be replaced also.

The best thing to do is go get a can of electromotor cleaner or brake clean and spray it down . Try to move the filter screen and spray up in side real good. If that doesn't fix it put in a new valve.

Sound like a bad packing cup.

Thank you both for your reply even though they send me in different directions, so let me ask these, would I be visibley leaking any fluid if the packing cup were bad, and how big a deal is it to change,
Now back to the A valve when I have the valve out and cleaning it up should I be able to move anything in and out or is the movement internal?? because it just seams like one piece with no movement should it go in and out?? Thanks again

My e60 blade goes down by itself, all the valves have magnetism, and I removed the a valve cleaned it the orings are ok and the inside part moves about 1/8th an inch when pushed. so it would seem it is not stuck. someone said it may be the packing cap, does anyone know what I should look for? I cannot afford trial and error by replacing unnessary parts. Thanks for any help. Joe

It's a whole lot easier to help & to keep track of this troubleshoot by keeping all the posts in one thread. So I moved your new thread to here.

According to the manual, if the A-valve is OK, then it says to "disassemble unit. Inspect O-rings, Cylinder, Piston Assembly. Does it now hold?" If not it says to replace the base. But looking at the parts list, the packing cup seems like a lot cheaper & likely culprit to try first. I would replace all of those O-rings etc. while its opened up.

If you don't have tyhe manual you can download it here, or buy it from any dealer or one of the online suppliers:
