Picked this fine plow up in a trade for my old/spare snowmobile. I got every piece off the 2005? Dodge 2500 it came off of. I'm gong to put it on my F350. I'm trying to track down a mount for it now.

That is a fine looking plow, I'm a sno-way fan myself. Hope it works out for you.

Congrats!!!

Which dealer are you going to go through for the mount??? There are actually a few dealers in CT as of late...

That plow looks like new, I'd say you made out pretty well on the deal.

I've been running a couple of them, I'm happy with them.

Only weak point on that plow is that foolish "toenail" in the middle. If you push a lot of wet snow the weight wil bend it down adn make it wear fast. When you backdrag it will bend upwards and trowel on about a 12" wide stirp of snow. I did some modding to one that lets me use a thick piece of straight urethane edge in the middle. Not a perfect fix but better than that thing they put on there.

I called Mad Hatter in Southington as they're the closest to me (still 45min/mi) and asked them about a mount and lighting. The guy said he'd call me back... that was @ 10am and I haven't heard from him all day. Going to follow up with him tomorrow and find out what the deal is. I'd like to re-use as much of the dodge mount as possible. I believe it's somewhat modular in construction and I believe that the dodge and ford use the same headlight system.

The plow was new last year and only used on 3 commercial properties so its in pretty good shape. That toe section does look pretty ragged compared to the condition on the rest of the plow. The only defect is the stand got ripped off. I have to figure out how its supposed to look and get it back together. There is no bent or sheared metal but the kickstand isn't attached right now.

I'll get pics of the stand tomorrow. I've got problems with wiring on one truck that I'll be working on and at some point I'll be trying it on the plow again. I assume that stand is the same on my older plows.

The stand gets ripped off if you don't latch it up when you mount the plow. I've never ripped one off but I have distorted a couple. If you get a bunp, like you dragged the plow over something, when you back up it's a good idea to check the stand.

I took the rubber center section out and replaced it with steel. Got mine from a poster on a different plowing site. I just got it put on and am anxious to try it. Very well made and it was a direct bolt-on. Cheaper then the rubber piece too. :grinz

Matt,

I'm not at all familiar with the new "plug in" style Sno-Way mounting system but I'm going to assume they operate the same way as far as what needs to be done to make the jackstand function.

When you go to dismount the plow you will have to unlock the stand and let it dangle. As the light tower moves forward during dismounting the stand will hit the ground and lift the back of the A-frame out of whatever it connects with.

Once it is locked in, if the stand isn't clear of the ground use the downpressure to lift the front of the truck some. At that point the stand should be clear of the ground and you swing it up and lock it in place.

Unless somebody removed it deliberately there should be some part still hanging on the lift mechanism on the drivers side of the linkage.

Picture 1 is of the stand dangling in the breeze with the plow on the ground, DP actuated.

2 shows the socket that the stand pins into when it's in transport position.

3 shows the stand swung almost into transport position and the relationship between the socket and the locking pin.

Depending on how high your truck sits you may have to block the stand up with something to get height enough for it allow the plow to come off the truck.

I appreciate the help. The snoway dealer I've been talking to hasn't been very helpful since I haven't heard from him in about a week.

Dave,
No problem, call me anytime.
