I am going to be in Egnar, Colorado next week for work.... Just down the road from bumstick no where... well there is a large auction of stuff..... Nothing that I need:wink But it is out in the middle of no where (as close as you can get to Utah without having to drink low alcohol beer:D) I have no clue how this much equipment ended up in this SMALL town (like 30 houses) I really don't think the population is above 200 people for 30 miles....
Well there are two FWD plow trucks with square hoods, no year stated in the auction flyer.... Both are 5+2 trannys and 300 Cummins.....benching wings, reversables, spreaders and V plows
Are they as easy to find parts as the Oshkosh trucks? One is running one is listed as complete for parts... NO RUST ANYWHERE....
I am only going to bid low for the pair, but I like big iron....

Steve McLean has some FWD's. They were bought out by KME? or Walters was? I'll get back to you on that.
FWD stands for four wheel drive auto company. Be right back with what info I can find.

Unless they have some magic up their hat, I cant imagine that this is going to be well attended. It is a hour drive to get there from Grand Junction. It doesn't really snow out there...
The closest motel is 25 minutes away. No cell service, no stores, NADA NOTHING.
I am assuming that they are either going to put more lots online or are only putting the lots th at they thing are going the get some money online... DUnnO

Correcting my above post its 3.5hrs from Grand Junction and 2.5 hrs from Durango, Colorado...
Auction flyer states (2) FWD plow trucks, one for parts-300 cummins, 10spd, comes with sander, wing and plow.
Here are some pics. Parts truck is missing rear wheels, and complete hub/brake assembly. One axle shaft is sitting on side of truck. To move everything you are talking about two flatbeds at least. Both trucks are 5000hrs +. The "running" truck has not been ran since winter 05/06. It has about a 10" hole in the muffler. Parts truck has dash wiring tilted out....Based on AtGreene's deal... I would hope they go cheap, like scrap cheap. The cab/fenders/hood on the parts truck is in better shape. Parts truck has steel fenders, "runner" has fiberglass (patched up)

If you watch what similar trucks go for on Ebay that is the ballpark.....

I am thinkin like 1000 for both of them since they are in pretty rough shape.. Any more than that and you can probabbly start doin a little searching and find something with less hours on it thats basically ready to roll......:popcorn2

Way more than I was thinking...
I was thinking 750-1k for the pair considering the expense of trucking them.. Its at least 7-8hrs from Denver, 3.5 to Grand Junction, 6hrs to Salt Lake... Its at least 2hrs from ANYWHERE that gets enough snow to need a plow at all...
I was just shocked from the description in the flyer, then I went and talked to the owner before I saw the truck, she kept saying how great the trucks were, that they drove to where they are, and that they are "sweet"

Howard...
In the market from what I have seen these trucks sell on ebay for between a few hundred and about 3000 to 3500...
Once in a while something really nice has been popping up and selling for top $$$. If I were you I would hold out for an Oshkosh. At least you know the parts are readily avaliable for the Oshkoshes and at last resort you can bite the bullet and pay list price from a true Oshkosh dealer. The FWD's you are sort of at the point where you have to either scrounge around heavily or retrofit parts......
For those two that you showed I would bid up to about a grand at the most. If you do land up winning them you can at least know that you can recoupe the grand in parting them out...

I can guess that the ride across country was long and loud if the oshkosh is as loud as my Unimog he wore earplugs or lost his hearing!

I'll be in Colorado next week for a job interview, I hope to find some plows out and about. Good thing to see some of the old relics still exist out there.
