making my 89 suburban into a 4 wheel drive

i hope that someone can help me ? I have a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 ,and what i need to know is , can I transfer all the running gear from my 78 4x4 and put on my 89 chevy suburban or is the problem to much of a hassel to do this. I'd would really like to know if this is a major prodject or , a bolt on , Thank You for all your time and expert opinion .......olblu chevy:burnout

It's far from a bolt on.First off,your dealing with two different chassis\body styles,and the 2WD to 4WD drive conversion for anything is difficult.

It could be done,but a lot of custom work will be required.
