So the honda... again... intermitent startiing.... sometimes it will sometimes not... wait a few hours and it does:mad:

Took fuel like going to fuel rail off... no fuel with key on....

Seems to be getting spark...

1991 FI 2.2 honda accord...

If it is the pump, I am going to junk the car... Its not worth $150-250 for the pump plus dropping the tank...

check where the fuel pump relay plugs into the underhood fuse box, they have a habit of the solder breaking down and not allowing the relay to work properly

Honda has a main relay under the dash that goes bad. Go to napa and ask for a Misubic main relay. This is usually the problem with a intermitant no start.

Hondas main relay is on the drivers side underdash the syptoms of a main relay failure usally are car quits or wont start if its hot out like the interior gets the relay from heat . Simple test before you buy one open the doors on the car and let the interior cool off usally the main relay on a honda will come back to life, however with the miles you have on the old girl it sure is a likly chance the pump has gone home to fuel pump heaven.

well I definately think it is something getting hot under the dash, let the interior cool off and the car starts.

I pulled the one mitsuba relay that I saw (high and to the left of the steering wheel... well there must be another cause the car started and ran without it in place... I have no idea what it ran, but I put it back.

Obviously there is the ECM up tight on the column, where is the other relay?

Its behind the left kick panel on the drivers side just ask napa for the honda Main relay thats what its called and match , if the car starts after the doors are left open for a few mins its a dead giveaway the main relay is crapping out.

Pretty good advice so far.....

Just FYI,I have never had a fuel pump fail in a Honda.Every one we saw towed in with no fuel pressure, was a main relay, fuel pump relay,or broken or corroded wires.

I'd try the main relay first, they are the number 1 cause of failure, especially when the problem is intermittant.
