Here is a lawn I did last week. There is no chance a bobcat could have done this job!!! The hill was a about a 45* incline. Didn't get a chance to take a pic of it hydroseeded

wow Matt, that is some hill! Your right,I wouldnt want to try to run a SS on that hill, the tractor does have an advantage there.I think it would be hard to get good germination on that slope,I hope you dont get any bad T storms for a while, and you should be ok.

John he should do fine I know if i planted any seed we would have the most rain storm ever. and I know this because everytime i plant seed 4 days later they say we are having major down pours. . Your right definatly not a SS type of job.

John, We put a Tachifier in the hydroseed. this stuff will stick to a wall!! Last spring I did a lawn sprayed 30,000sq ft. the lawn was completely on a hill (though not as bad) and we had a week of down poor and just a few spots of little run off. the tachifier works great!

We have used the tchifier before, and for some reason, the whole hydroseed/tachifier didnt come in worth a squat,we had to redo all our tees old school, and it came right in.The contractor who did it had a lot of experience. You have found the right mix.

What are you running for tack? The stuff I use works good to slick things up and is OK to hold it in light rain and wind but heavy rain reactivates the tack and it will wash. I've heard of tackifiers that are used in BFMs that will not rewet once they set/dry but I haven't been able to find any sold by themselves.

What are you running for a seeder? I've got a homegrown jet agitated machine so I'm slightly limited as to what I can mix. I would like a mechanical machine but ones I can justfy the cost of are too small or to beat to be worth having

I am using Floc Loc Soil Stabilizer. Sold at Lesco.

My hydroseeder is a Jet spray by Easy Lawn (http://www.easylawn.com/index.html) TM-60 I got a pretty good deal on it last year. It will cover about 8-10k sq ft depending on how heavy I go with it. I also use it to spray my Magic-0 in the winter. I will get some pics tomorrow. I really use it for myself and take care of a few friends. It works great. This spring we took it apart sandblasted it and made some mods to it. It works so much better now. Plus now it is silver and matches my other equipment :grinz The green paint was killing me. All around a great investment. good :cash maker and makes the job look that much more professional.

Nice job Matt. The pics of the spreader would be great. What Harley rake are you using on the back of that tractor?

Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that. A floating SS could very easily have done that hill. :wink

Seriously, since everyone knows I've done 1 or 2 stupid things in my life, I'd try that hill in a heartbeat with my tracked SS. A wheeled machine, no way, but one with dedicated tracks, I'm thinking I could--sideways at that. My employees think I'm nuts for some of the other things I've done with my 190, like a couple of the hills I aerate with it. And just to make it interesting, there's a $7M horse at the bottom of the hill. Bronze, sculpted horse, only 2 in the world.

I'll get pics next time. Used to have some, but not sure what happened to them.

Kinda what I'm thinking Mark.....looks like you could run it with a tracked machine. I'll try anything once though :haha

On the sticking a skidsteer note......I had to go rescue my dad this weekend as he got it burried GOOD. Not that thats realy exciting stuff but now the ratio to him digging me out to me digging him out has swung in my favor so he cant give me crap for awhile :haha

Yah, that's the philosphy that got me stuck in a pond. But I'd still try it just to say I could. :grinz :grinz

That looks like a fun project to work on. I mow an estate that has angles that steep maybe even steeper in one spot. These people are really picky and it has to be striped the as the rest of the property. Mowers like to slide down the hills if the grass is alittle wet or going to fast. It was a blast to figure it out the first cut.
