I will soon be mounting a new blade on my 2001 2500 ram. It does not have the snowplow prep package as an option but I will just handle any upgrades myself. My question is what springs should I be running in the front to best handle a 950 lb plow. I have a copy of the build sheet so I know what is on it now, at least so far as option codes go not part #. I also plan on installing timbrens but would like to be sure that I have a solid foundation so the timbrens will simply act as overloads like they are designed to. I almost forgot. My truck has the 360 v-8, not the diesel which is significantly heavier. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me. Thanks

You will want a 046\047 combo. It works well with heavy blades on a gasser. There is one heavier, the 047\048,but you may find it a little stiff.

Yes,they will fit an 04.Dodge says no,but they will.
Free length is different, but installed height is the same. It's the higher spring rate you need to carry a heavy plow.
I have done a few 04 diesels with the 047\048,and they worked great.
If you have doubts, call Skyjacker.Their D25 lift coils are the same part for 94-04.

Hey Wyldman. One more question for you. Will those springs increase the ride height or are they just stiffer? No problem either way, I just like to know what to expect. Thanks for all the help.

The 046\047 will usually give you 3/4 to 1 inch of lift, and the heavier 047\048 will give you 1 to 1 1/4 inches. It will be slight, but noticable. The differences in lift vary depending on what springs you had before. As the springs settle some, you will lose about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the lift gained.

So if your moving around an 810 or something heavier you should have the 47/48 springs . especially with the added weight of the Cummins
