bad gas?

I have a mtd 26" snowblower with a 8 1/2 horse b&s. well last night i ran out of gas and i went to the local gas station got some gas and off i went fired up the snowblower at the next location working fine for about 10 min and then it died. I get it restarted and its running ruff, warms up running fine. as so as i put a load on it either engage the auger or the transmission it stalls. I get it started and runs ruff lower the choke runs on half speed so to speak, goes about 5 ft and dies. I am thinking i have bad gas or water in the gas ? what to you guys think??

Maybe it picked up some crap off the bottom of the tank ?

I'd drain the tank,and clean it out,then try some fresh gas.If that doesn't do it,unscrew the main jet to remove the fuel bowl and clean it out.Unscrew the mixture screw from the main jet,and clean it out,and clean the needle and seat as well.

Count the number of turns required to lightly seat the mixture screw,so you can get it close upon reassembly.After it's warmed up,adjust the screw for max power when blowing snow.
