OK the GTG is officially underway.

Father Fred kicked things off early this A.M. as I had to get out some Kool Aid to help me stay awake while cleaning the shop. I brewed up another Pot of Mission and finished up the mount and wiring on a 5500 4x4 GMC about 2 a.m. Fred hasn't called with his official blessing for the event yet but he usually doesn't pull out of Midland till about 2 a.m. Friday so I don't expect that call untill sometime after that. I think he'll be talking to T-Zab hoping to keep him from refueling with Gas again and making sure he resets his watch on the way over.

Tom and I started out the day getting the Buzz Box of loaded from my truck and loaded into his. Blower motor is up getting final tune up after the injector pump rebuild.

Fast Johnny and his dad just pulled in about 10:00 today as we were getting that swap done and are hanging out and checking out the shop today.

Just talked to T, he's downtown Chi-town in bumper to bumper traffic having fun. Got started later than he hoped, but he's on the way.

I'm heading out at 3 or 4 AM after I get a little more sleep and get stuff taken care of here.

See ya in awhile.

PS I see the weather looks semi-crappy for the weekend, is that correct?

The Vermont contingent will be leaving in the morning so we probably won't get into much of the Friday fun. Had to wait here to see just how this storm was going to play out. It has been snowing since about 7:30 this morning, currently 1+" on the grass and some slush, that is so wet it's transparent, on pavement. Snow varies between 1/4 mile visibility and rain. Supposed to cool down after dark and keep snowing some through the night. I just bought another ton of salt(so much for the bin being empty through the summer, maybe) and salted the two zero tolerance sites. That will either hold them overnight or reduce what I have to deal with at Oh Dark Thirty.

We'll be staying at Microtel. Couple good points about that Place, (1) they allow dogs, and (2) called them twice and both times I got a person who spoke understandable english.

Made it here about a 45 minutes ago. Hit some rain then sleet out side of Cleveland. Slowed it down alot. Had my road buddy get me threw the 480 271 route,he knows that one like the back of his hand. Never paid attention before  allways followed a red Ford out here.
Not sure on breakfast yet Everett, give J a jingle in the am. He has to drop his son off at daycare then breakfast, he has a few chores for me to do then off to the shop.
I need to get over there first thing anyway, some sort of suprise there I guess ??????

I better hear about a Midland GTG planned for this fall after this GTG! Hopefully that would be harder to miss than the full fledged 26 hour driving trip to Erie. Hopefully wife will have enough PTO by then to take a day or two off work so I can go. Would probably make a business trip out of it and go visit the Beering Manor for a pickup truckload "sample" of the magic stuff before heading home. Have fun guys, wish I could be there!

Sorry to dissapoint Dan - wasn't going to happen!!!

Thanks to all for another great weekend! So great to see familiar faces and meet so many new ones. The flurries ended at the state line last night, and it was smooth sailing from there - and John was right - set the cruise at 78 and never had a problem.

Woke up to all rain here (checked a couple of times), but they're still calling for 6-8" overnight. Will wait and see!

Safe driving to all those headed home today! And one more time for Dino - "How's it goin', eh?"

I had a great time at Jerre's bash. Hope I didn't hurt everyones eyes with the yellow.

Sorry I didn't get to meet "Father Fred". I hope he talks to me whenever he does meet me... after all, I am responsible for the chicken legs, even though they were not my idea!

I think Renda was a bit disappointed his sheep didn't get more of a rise from the local Erie people...they are very used to sheep already! I'm sure he had a good ride home with her(whatever her name is). Maybe he could name her after the less than beautiful bruised young lady at Cracker Barrel.

Peter...the very limited edition sheep special fluid film will be not so proudly put on display in the shop. Thanks

Mark O...don't worry about the pontoon episode...everybody pushes their machines limits whether they admit it or not. I'll wear the shirt with pride.

Dino...thanks for helping out with Davo's plow...you saved his dinner clothes for dinner and his wife Deb.

Chuck...thanks for the plates and thank the wife for the cooking...yum

Thanks for the fun guys. Great meeting you. I can't believe how much I learned his weekend. Definitely worth the effort to get out there.

Stopped for a nap on the highway in the Berkshires, woke up about an hour later and it was snowing. Snow didn't show up here until a short while ago but nothing on the roads.

Some highlights (up to the point that I left):

Chuck read a moving message from Father Fred to the congregation.

One-eyed-Bill took over duties of blessing the Holy Water and did a fine job.

Pete's nickname "Klinger" stuck through the whole weekend and may for much longer.

The first elephant gift taken was an emergency kit of Jack Daniels.

We saw a Meyer's plow do the "Bump"; or was that the "Hustle"?

Steve and crew taught the country band how to party college style (in the halls of the hotel).

Matt learned there is more money in trucking Samuel Adams to Erie than anything we are presently doing (legally).

Thom proved that the love handles are actually safety devices when a C-clamp made a strategic move of it's own.

The LED shop light was still on four days running.

An Artillery and PPE show-and-tell.

An 8611 needed to be short-chained on a brand new 6500 (totally decked out) but Jerre had a better idea.

The Ohio State Troopers were on the lookout for Peter, but he somehow got through in his cloaked ride.

No skid steer was hurt in the making of this weekend.

OK, first to FRED.......................I Fuked up. Thanks for talking me to the house. Problem was the guys were huddled around the pig cooker and the girls were still getting lunch together when I arrived. I think it was after 2 when we started on the spread the girls put on inside. Speaker phone Idea was a bust as it got hit the other night with the storm we had.

WE HAD HOPED FOR A LONG VIDEO.........................Had the plasma up at the house and watched alot of plow videos. Thought we were taping it all for you but the video didn't take. We got some stuff from the shop for you though and I'll post it as soon as adelphia gets out internet back up at the shop.

I tried to call when Renda and Tileman were speaking but got the machine as Your sister must have been doing her job putting you to a nap little boy. Listen to her a little.

I don't know how the sound was on the phone but I'll be going home and listening to the day on the computer and burning a copy for you.

We've got lots of picts that will be posting soon.

To everyone that came and that helped

THANK YOU

Fred thanks for Breakfast at Cracker Barrell, More importantly Thanks for being one of my best friends and more. I've been lucky to have another brother these last years.

Going home to help Amy with Jacob here soon.

Matt and Dino are home safe.
Ray is making the last leg of the journey but has to pick up an air tank from a guy that has no phone and sells items on ebay via the libraries computer. If nothing else he will have an interesting story to tell.
What I personally took away:
A sweat shirt from Lakeside Landscape, bob cat of ohio t shirt, bumper stickers, LTS sweat shirt and licence plate.
Got to put faces and personalities to alot of people.
Rocket, Mike, and Dave were great dinner companions. Thanks Ray for the dinner, and the lube tube of Sams went down nice.
John, Mike and Tom were great 2 cd night dinner guests.
Mr. Beering , what can I say. A convo with you is time very well spent. Thank you for chatting as long as you did. I would be more than happy to discuss a trip south. BTW, will you please tell Matt that you dont have an elevator to your basement, that you can drive the fork lift into. LOL
Pete(gslam), while klinger may have stuck, I still think Quagmire from family guy is more fitting. giggidy giggidy goooo
Steve I think we bonded, yes no maybe? It was great to see you and chat with you. That has got to be the biggest belt buckle I have ever seen this side of the rockies.
John D its always a pleasure. Good to see you again.
Everette the trac racs look great. John Banks would be proud.
Todd, thanks for the boating tales. It was nice to meet you as well.
Tileman Rich, we only started chatting at the end, so next time for sure. BTW your sons are attention deprived and looking to borrow anything that is or isnt screwed down. Right P Beering. LOL I just wish that A 1 sauce made a better wood stain.
Durwood and Andy, you guys are to cool. It was great to meet you and your famillies.
Jerre, Amy and my not so little buddy Jacob, great to you all again, and I am sure I will be back in the fall.
To Mr. Bill Renda
WOW is all I can say. You truly are a paradox. I am glad I got to meet the softer side of you. Yes the side with wool on it. So check this out, I get home and my 6 yo daughter made 2 sheep out of TP rolls. With cotton balls for wool and cute little faces. Matt- we learned what else those can be used for from O&A friday, so it was all too fitting.
Finally Fred, my note will say it all, but after talking with PB, I do feel like we have met, and your spirit was there for sure and always will be. I have never seen so many rough and tumble plow guys cry more than during the blessing and while the note was read. We will meet someday in person that I am sure of. But I know we have already met in spirit.

Thanks to all for a great time, and if you never have been, make time to come in the future.

Well, I walk in the door about 45 minutes ago. Said hello to the family. I have to unpack and charge the batteries in my camera, then I'll post some pictures.

I want to thank Jerre, Amy and Jacob for allowing the droves into there home. And to the others who prepared the food for Saturday. I don't know all the names of the people, but Thank You, the food was great. Also T and Mike for the things you do.

Dino, you said it right. I was trying to think of a way to speak to that very thing. Fred, we never met but wow do you have an influence on this bunch of guys. Rich did me the favor of explaining everything. I wish I had known before my last hour with these guys. Personally I don't know what to say but just keep fighting and thank you.

I have to mention Mark O. This guy takes a bit of heat around here and a bit more at the GTG. I don't know what I was expecting but the nice, quiet, clean cut guy that showed up wasn't it. Mark, I am especially glad to have finally met you.

All kinds of thank yous to go around will get to them after bit.

Now I have got to take the wife out to get something to eat. She has been home alone all weekend with a furnace that has not been working to well. She had to keep the wood stove going and she never has like loading it.

So when I get back later this evening I will start to post pics and story lines.

Fred please wait on me. I took lots of pics. Posting them real soon.

There will be many photos from the various paparazzi shortly. For my part let me thank our gracious albeit harried host and hostess. To open shop and home to this bunch is at once brave, foolish, and thoughtful. Thanks again to the whole Heyer family for allowing and making it happen.

There are some traditions at this affair, the hapless hostesses at the Lube (see Durwood's post above), the logistically challenged at Longhorn, and the vigilant at Cracker Barrell.

Fred asked me why we didn't call from Krispy Kreme last night when we spoke this morning, and I told him that going there wouldn't be the same without him. (notwithstanding the near white out conditions.......)

Monsenior Renda's communion was moving as was Chuck's rendering of Fred's blessing.

As always, it is a chance to enjoy the fellowship of old friends and new ones.
As a wise fire colleague once told me "I don't trade old friends for new ones. I have old friends, and I have new friends. They are all my friends."

Where to start as already mentioned a big THANK YOU!!!!! to all that helped make this a great weekend. It is nice to put some names to faces and then some new names to those faces (clinger).:grinz After seeing the emotion in the room when Chuck read the father's letter, Bill took over the blessing(and did great), and Rich gave the story of the Kool-Aid it was obvious how powerful friendship still is. Doesn't matter if it's your neighbor, the guy you work with, your family, or a bunch of guys you met online. We are all very blessed to have the group that we have here.
Jerre, Amy, and Jacob- Well the last time I looked the house was still standing so if your crazy enough to do it again next year put me down. Thanks again.
Chuck- This is a great site and I can't say enough about what you do for all of us.
Rich and the boys- wouldn't be the same without you
Matt- A good time as always.
Mr. Beering- Still not the guy I expected to meet in Erie PA but none the less a pleasure as always. Thanks again for breakfast Sunday.
T-Zab- Nice to chat with you a little more this year
Renda- Need I say more, perhaps Mark's inflatable skidsteer could help clean up after the sheep. LOL
John D. & Pelican- Glad to see you guys again this year.
All the guys we met this year that we didn't see last year, I would go through the names but am sure to screw them up.
Father Fred- To say the least you were missed this year, hang in there. By the way thanks for breakfast Saturday.
Ron (dieselglory) Nice to meet you and your wife, a big thanks for the cutouts you made for everyone.
Last but not least Mark O. you are one hell of a good time. I think you took more crap in 2 days in person than in a year online. From wood skid steers (with pontoons) to floating blowup (snorkled) bobcats, to the orange hat. I was glad to finally meet you. So here's to you rear admiral.:salute

I have to admit....I had a wonderful time this weekend! I still find it amazing that such a great group of people found each other over the internet. I have not been to a get-together in 3 years and after all that time, it felt like going home to a family reunion.

A HUGE thank you to Jerre, Amy and Jacob....Amy you Rock! The food was incredible but that pales in comparison to your hospitality. I finally got to meet and play with my little buddy. Makes me wish once again that we were closer. I truly love you guys!

Alan and Linda....smooches...we will see each other soon.

Rich, BJ and Jimmy....you always make our time together worthwhile!

Johnny....Here's the public invitation....COME VISIT!!!!

Peter...It was an absolute pleasure finally meeting you and thank you again for breakfast on Sunday and for my Mission coffee!! (I couldn't wait to break open that bag this morning)

Andy...you have a beautiful family...please tell Kylie that I am sorry that I couldn't find her for my goodbye hug.

Julie and Tammy....I love you both and I am soooooooo happy that I got to see you...it's been too long!

Bill....you are always fun to be around. Thank you for the laughs everytime I thought I was going to cry on Saturday.

Fred...please know that if prayers mean anything....you have a ton flowing your way. From your NJ family...we love you with all our hearts!!! Thank you again for breakfast on Saturday.

I could go on and on....but to everyone else, thank you for the laughs, tears and for just allowing us to spend time with you. I am in awe of all of you...your knowledge, your caring and your kind hearts.

To ALL that attended it is was my pleasure to meet each and everyone of you.

To ALL that did not attend I hope to someday meet you.

To Jerre, Amy and Jacob. Your shop and home was opened to us and the love you share with each other was shared with each and every one of us. My hat is off to you all and thank you for allowing us into your home as well as into your lives. Sharing is a great thing and you guys are the best.

Thom. Thanks for all the help with everything. I really do appreciate it.

Father Fred. Please believe me when I say you were missed. The love and prayers from the "congregation" were second to none. Your an Icon to many here. Please fight the fight the best that you can and let the love of the group make you stronger each day. We are there for you in any way possible my friend.

Steve, Johnny D and Matt Bowman. We are too close together here not to see each other except for Erie. We need to work on this.

Chuck, Rich and Alan (and all the other mods)
as well you know my intro into this site was rocky to say the least with LGF and a few others but you guys stood by me while I was WORKING in Iraq and I want to thank you all for the support. I vowed last year while I was still there to get to Jerre's this year when i was reading the posts last year because I could not believe what I was reading. Your site has made this GTG possible and a reality. I cannot thank you enough for what you have created and work at so hard to keep a great forum and open discussion board. You guys are the greatest.

I cannot Thank each and every one of you enough for taking the time to meet and talk with me and make me feels so welcome as you did. This unlike most groups in the internet are real people sharing a common goal and striving to help each other. I again want to THANK YOU ALL.

John

Yes Mark O does take alot of pontooning, i mean lampooning from us here. But part of thinks he doesnt hate it as much as he pretends too.
Like I mentioned to him, we all have done very silly things with equipment and trucks, but we arent silly enough to post them on the internet.
He has big ones for posting and from the swelling of busting them.
It was great to meet you as well Mark O

We got back here at 3:15 this morning. With our side trip to Lorain, OH we were something like 17 hrs on the road with the last 13 or so driving in some sort of precip. It was clear and sunny west of Cleveland and snotty around Erie, in both directions. After sundown it got worse. We took I-86 to Binghamton and then 88 from there to Albany. The last 60 miles into Albany took two hours roads snow covered and something between rain/sleet/freezing rain coming down. There was a ways, on both sides of Albany, that the roads were ,briefly, clear and wet but once past that it was either slush or packed snow with slush on top. VTDOT disappointed us terribly. These folks normally do a great job but last night VT had the worst roads of the ordeal. VT 22a is the main truck route between Burlington, VT and Albany, NY and while it had been plowed it had not been done recently, not did it appear to have been treated with anything. Even the last leg, which was on I-89 north of Burlington had not been recently plowed and there was no telltale stripe of bare pavement to indicate it had seen salt.

As soon as we got home Linda went to bed and I crashed in my recliner. We had been swapping driving so we were into equal opportunity exhaustion. She was able to sleep in But I only got a whole 1 1/2 hr and then had to go mount a plow and deal with 3-4 inches of slop on a couple accounts.

I can't say thanks enough to Jerre and Amy for opening their home to us, Fred and Peter for breakfasts, and everybody else just for being there. Special thanks to those who made such generous contributions to the door prize table. Also, thanks to everyone who accepted our four legged, hairy, "son". On the flip side, we DO realize that not everyone is a dog person and if anyone was offended or upset by him being there we wish you had said so.

This is quite the family we have on this site. I'm proud to be a part of it.

Where to start. I know I'll forget a few, so it will take more than one post.

First off, thanks Chuck and Chris for this site and allowing us to get together daily as friends with a love for this industry. It was great to see you both again, 5 almost 6 years is too long, let's not let it go that long again.

Secondly, thanks to Jerre, Amy and Thomas for opening their house and shop to all of us and allowing us to get together at least annually. You guys are great, let me know if Jacob wants an inflatable Bobcat, I'll get him a close replica minus the snorkel and flag.

Fred, you were there in spirit more than you know. (Didn't know about the toenail thing, TMI bud, TMI. You might want to try a new razor as well or maybe even Nair. PS If someone is too scared by his threat about a Foley, send the pics to me, I'll post them, the pain goes away pretty quick. Been there, done that.) Wish you could've made it, but we still felt your presence. Thought of it on the way home, too, another great tune that reminded me of you and the whole thing going on right now by the Nuge, Fred Bear. Thanks for breakfast, even if we were insulted by the waitress.

Sheepboy aka ProSno, been waiting a long, long time to meet you. Glad to see the waitress knew you were coming and your daughter can put you in your place. Bet I know where she got that from. You're everything and then some what everybody kept telling me about you. Hope you had a good ride home with Ginger II on your lap. I think the funniest bit was the hooker coming out of Cracker Barrel and telling Renda that she had her own sheep and he didn't have anything to worry about. Thanks for letting the Meyer rep know what we were all thinking but didn't say it out loud to him but you didn't hold back. Glad you decided to make it bud.

Todd, great to finally meet you in person after all the talks we've had. Let's keep it going and I'll let you know if I get in touch with the Man.

Peter, nice to finally meet you in person as well, even if I pretty much knew you from our conversations. I was kidding about the IQ thing, really. I know I'm no match fr someone bright enough to only hit his head on a tire and shock mount numerous times in his own garage. Thanks too for the flag and snorkel, it was only appropriate. Surprisingly though, you're not a very good liar. :wink I would really like to sit down and talk about your background someday a little more in depth. I might even be able to give you some pointers on not trimming the branch that your ladder is resting against.

Great to see Andy and Corky again. Nice to meet the famed Durwood, although from what I understand, that wasn't really his wife, but, how might one word this, a hired hand, would that work? I'm assuming the lady of the night that we saw at Cracker Barrel was already reserved?

:jk Kate, it's a joke, really. I'm not the one who started the rumor.

jbutch83\John\Pablo, thanks for the helmet and the escort on down. Next year, same time, same place for breakfast.

gslam\Pete\Klinger, you surprised us, that's for sure, especially with your looks. I think your new nickname is here to stay.

Dave (GMC Driver), I was looking forward to meeting another good Dutchman with great tastes in door prizes as well. :grinz

I know I'll miss some, but the same goes for Johnny D, Steve, Alan, Rich and the boys, Rocket, EIB, Matt, Dino and Ray, Ray and partner (sorry, can't remember his name. It was great to meet all of you and wish we had more time to talk and get to know each other better. John (CGSI) for the Magic too. Needed the ballast for a few miles on the way home.

Now that this GTG is officially over and out of the way, I am confident that we as a family will agree to move on past any future references to floating and\or sinking skidder's, right?

Seriously, it is great to be a part of this family and all the good natured ribbing that goes on, even if I am on the ass end of it all. Thanks to everyone for a great time.

PS I apologize for not living up to or down to anyone's expectations. Not sure what you were expecting of me, but there were a few comments made, so I'm sure there were many more thought but not spoken. :wink

Steve and I got to my house about 830pm last night,it was along trip with parts of it near Erie being so foggy we missed or exit for I86 and had to turn around.Towards home the rain got heavy to the poin that we had to be careful due to the running water crossing the roads.

I'm sorry we didnt make breakfast sunday morning,I was looking forward to another Cracker Barrel GTG with you guys, and the good byes I never got to say.So to all those we missed sunday morning,it was a great time, thank you everyone.

Jerre,Tom,and Amy thank you for opening your home and shop to us,you all are some of the kindest, most giving people I've ever met.

I ought to say thanks to a few folks as well:

I think it goes without saying that Jerre, Amy, Thomas - THANK YOU! I know the hard work you put into the GTG and it is grealty appreciated by all! You always out do yourselves - the spread for lunch was fantastic! Thanks Jacob for bringing a smile to everyone's face - he's a bundle of joy!

Chuck & Chris - thank you for this site - the friendships formed here are something I never expected when I went searching online for an answer to some questions.

For all the others (I'm sure to forget a few) - nice to see you all again, and nice to meet the new faces!

Eric-Hafast, Ron-dieselglory, John-CGSI, Everett-EIB, Bob-LazerMan, Don-Rocket, Pete-gslam/Klinger/Quagmire, urethaneDino, Raymond, Ray-JustUsDe, Alan, the boys, Durwood, John-jbutch83, Todd-T-Zab, Steve-Pelican, John D, and Mr. Beering - thank you all for the conversations and comradere!

Andy D - next time I'll try for a bigger size - Get me some work in Ohio, and I'll bring the biggest one I can find (remember - Ontario rates eh!)

Matt - I think the manager at the Longhorn just called - we start on Wednesday! Thanks for the good times!

Mark O - nice to meet you. The wife has already claimed the sweatshirt -"It looks warm!" At least someone will understand if I seem extra busy.

Bill - Prosno: thanks man - I'm begining to appreciate that I get to laugh so hard I cry at least once a year - in Erie. The Cracker Barrel after breakfast is almost a tradition - you had me in stitches. I have an idea why Fred picked you. I still think you should name the sheep Stella!

Rich - Tileman: Thank you for the fatherly advice. I couldn't have got it from a more qualified man!

Finally, Fred - thanks for breakfast. It was nice to chat on Friday. It wasn't the same this year, and everyone knew it. A whole garage of teary eyes proved it - a double garage to boot! We'll keep you in our prayers, and I don't think it can be said any better than what Matt said - Fight this fight like your first big snow! Hope to see you next year - the cutout kinda freaked me out!

Sorry if I missed anyone - but I'm glad I went. Thanks for letting me represent, eh! :canada :canada :canada

Sorry if I missed anyone - but I'm glad I went. Thanks for letting me represent, eh! :canada :canada

LMAO, Dave, I forgot about that one. I'll second the motion for naming the new sheep Ginger. Bill, if you didn't hear\catch that one, let me know and I'll fill you in. :rolling

No problem letting you represent Canada, either, eh.

I knew there was at least one I forgot. Dave aka SkyKing HD and his wife Chris. It was great to meet you both and have the opportunity to speak with you. And you were right about the weather, ran into light snow by about Cleveland--which is about when you called but I was talking to Scott, sorry I missed it--but didn't hit slushy, snow-covered roads til about 30 miles east of Toledo. It was snowing like mad as well. Roads cleared up by Toledo, though. Thanks for the headsup. I forgot about the pilot's license, I thought you might have been the only one there crazier than Bill when you said you'd be there in about an hour.

Thanks again and J & T, good luck in the :damputer search. Hope it's there but just hiding.

Where to start? Thanks Jerre and Amy. You two always outdo yourselves every year. As has been said before, not many people would open their homes to a bunch of plow nuts! Fred, although you were only there in spirit, and in 2D form this year, it was like you were there. Talking to you Friday night at The Lube, and Saturday when you called on our way to Cracker Barrel to tell me you already called the manager and took care of breakfast, and having "you" watch over us while we ate was the next best thing to you being there. It seemed like everytime I looked up, there you were. Krispy Kreme would not have been the same without you, so we did not go at all. I had a difficult time reading your letter to everyone. I did not look up once, because I thought I would lose it if I did. Chris said the emotion was very clear in everyone's face as I read it. Rich gave a very moving speech as did Bill. He did an excellent job with the blessing, you'd have been proud if you were there. I do not think there was a dry eye after his blessing. He topped it off with the story of "Ole Gus". So he got us back on track and lifted our spirits after such a somber moment.

It was great to meet so many new people in person. It was also great to see so many that I have not seen face to face in years. Dino and Mark O come to mind. I have been talking to Dino on this big white box for almost 10 years now! Skyking, it was nice to talk with you though only briefly. You and I both wish we could have had some time with the Meyer Reps. I can't even get the local rep to return my calls. Thank you MEYER for being the only manufacturer to send Reps, and freebies for everyone.

I won't even begin to try and list everyone. I talked to as many of you as I could, and still probably missed half of you. Every year I wish it was longer. I think this might have been one of the largest GTG ever for us. Jerre, did you count the tickets yet?

A BIG thanks to Erik from Haf.AST for making "Fred" and for the LTS license plates. A BIG thanks to dieselglory (Ron) for taking the time to make the logos for everyone on the CNC Plasma. I will post a pic with the info from the business cards you left by them. A BIG thanks to all who donated items for the give-away. There were so many that after all the tickets were called, it was a free for all to divvy up what was left. atgreene called, and asked me to put a voucher on the table for a quart of Maine maple syrup. It was one of the first to go, I will PM the name and shipping address. Jerre and Andy, please tell Kylie and Samantha thanks for pulling the tickets this year.

To those who could not make it this year (like Gregg Blair, atgreene and wyldman) you were missed, and I hope you can make it next year.

ProSno (Bill) you had me laughing from Friday night at The Lube with the Ole Gus story, to your new sheep in the parking lot at Cracker Barrel. I am always glad when you can be there. We all need to laugh like that as much as possible. Your title here is perfect. Geo, it was good to see you once again. GotGrass, glad you were able to make it too. Hope you got the part you needed from Jerre before you left.

I have about 60 pictures. Not sure if I will post them all, as many are just different angles of ones that have already been posted. Rocket had a great idea for a group shot at Jerre's house, but unfortunately, it didn't happen.

Rich, glad you and the boys made it. I look forward to seeing you all whenever I can. CGSI it was nice to finally meet you, I knew you would fit right in with us. Again, I enjoyed talking to everyone, and I am sorry if I did not single anyone out. Pics to follow later on tonight (I hope).

Chuck, 56 not including Amy and I, Jacob, Tom or Alicia, or the guys who cooked and worked on the hog and a couple that got there later. Geo made the shop but got lost heading to the house. I think he headed upto the casino before Longhorn.

I've been called a nut for opening my shop and my house up to this group.....................I'd be nuts if I didn't. You are an extention of my family.

I'm alot closer with many of you than I am with many blood relatives. I've said before it's a travel stop for anyone who needs a lay over. Things may be busy in snow season but I will make as much time to visit as I can. Summers are open season so stop by if traveling thru for vacation or work.

Tom and his Wife to be as well as Mike and Naomi, help me keep things running at the shop. We all pitch in to help each other. Beyond that our parents are there when they can be. Some of you met my Mom when she brought Jacob in this year and last. She helps out by watching him Friday night and Saturday morning so Amy can keep herself busy.

I know that alot of you traveled thru some bad weather in one direction or the other. Like I said at Longhorn on Saturday......." in Erie Tradition it's snowing again" Thanks for making the trip.

Jbutch, Thanks for the vest. Wish the weather would have coperated so we could have shot on Sunday. Hope you're cold gets better soon too. I knew you were a little under the weather.

Ray, it's been a long time since Taconics. Glad you guys got up here. It's not the equipment show that he had but I think the people make the GTG not the goodies.

Dave and Chris, thanks for making the flight up too. Make sure to get me that name and I'll do what I can do. If you're flying up this way again let Amy and I know.

T-zab, new title is oficial chaffeur (sp.) Thanks. Give your wife and daughter a hug for me and think about bringing them next year.

Mark, Jacob's going to put an order in with Scott for a bobcat for his kiddie pool.

Dino, You and Dude were a sight. Ray thanks again for the transport last year and thanks for tripping over again. I think Dino may be approaching Fred for total miles for plows. I will never forget the support you and Caleb lent on New Years Eve. Fred when you watch Rich's video's he's the one cuddling up with Tammy from SIMA.

Speaking of Sima, Thanks to Julie and her girls for watching Bills daughter Rachel part of the weekend and to Julie, Holly and Brian for coming out Friday night.

Everett, thanks for bringing goodies back and for helping transport tables and chairs on Friday night. You may see that Harley cruse up into your driveway instead of seeing it pushed due to a dead battery. ( sorry Fred had to put it outside for a couple of days as it couldn't make it to my father in laws garage)

CGSI -John, hope that filter got you home. Thanks for the donation of Magic salt. When you get in a 2 am next time call so we can tell you where we are. Corral Stephen and bring him with you next year.
Stephen bring a big note pad you'll need it with this bunch.

Rocket- Thanks for the delivery. You're alot like Mark O......A lot more laid back than I expected. I'm working on Gregg Blair for that 9' edge. Hope the discussion on the x blade didn't make you think I didn't like the concept. The stainless is a good Idea just not the way of mounting. Glad we got to talk more before you left.

Lazerman, again you snuck in and out without everyone getting to talk to you. Thanks for coming up. Wish Dynamike and the others from down there could have made it too. I've decided to have a little fun next year.

Hi my name is....................I'm from............ and I'm a LTS addict. Will become a part of the fun on Saturday.

Pete, that Klinger thing will get old soon enough. Now that you saw what I was trying to finish up Friday morning you know why I want to visit more and work less at the GTG.

BTW, For the guys who got to see me short pin a Blizzard..........That's what a couple of Orings missed at assembly will do for you. I don't blame Tom I just harassed him.

For anyone reading this that has a Full Hydraulic Blizzard with the Force America block. Tom and I came up with a fix to the Pressure Relief valve......You just have to remember to put all the orings on it. At least I didn't feel as bad when Lou had to add oil too.

The Meyer guys Lou Orazem and Drew Aloisi Thanks for coming over and sharing the changes that Meyers is making in there lineup. I know that they want to right some wrongs and change some perceptions. What you had to show us goes along way towards that. I know that alot of guys didn't look close like Tom and I did but we saw it. Thanks for Lunch on Friday ( is the card still good? LOL ) Thanks for the CD's and the prizes for the drawing.

Ron- DieselGlory. I know it took alot to get those cutout's made in time. They were great. Tell Bill I'll take 20 of each except for the Daniels in stainless when he gets a chance to cut them out. Let me know what I owe you guys. You know they were a hit as there were only a couple of them left.

Eric, Thanks for bringing Fred up early. Dave thanks for bringing Eric up. Wish you could have talked dad into letting you out of work for saturday afternoon.

Matt, You call and I'll start prepping another plow for the next GMC. No crushed finger this time I promise. Every time I looked over you had a drink (usually Beer ) in your hand and a Smile on your face. That's the way it should be. Thanks for doing Keg duty again.

Gregg Blair and the Superior Crew.........Thanks for the Keg. There was talk among us. When Scott Zorno and family had the neeed we all tried to step up for them. There's a U edge going out to Scott from the LTS family. Thanks for helping out on it.

Dave, Thanks for the present from the Duty Free, I found it with the coffee creamer this morning. You're a good rep from north of the boarder. You didn't have to do that. Just having you here is more than enough.

Seth, You finally sat down with the big group for dinner and didn't stop to go for a long potty break. Glad you did that in the fall last year with the small group we had too. You were a big help.

Durwood, Did your wife find out about your rent a date for Friday night yet?
I will try to have an Ohio quality Trough for the refreshments for next year. Thanks for coming up and lending a hand. Looking forward to doing that mount project and good luck with the sweeping issue.

Kate and Corky, Cookies were good. Amy said thanks for the help and that you girls should plan on getting away from the shop and coming out there or going out together when
you come up again.

Kylie, And here I didn't think you liked me. I've got a new collection of art on the wall of the break room and the first thing you did was put a high drawing on the white board and you left me a bye note. Hope you had fun up here. Tag along with mom and dad, samantha is always looking for someone to play with and Tom's daughter Shyann wan't to meet you too.

Andy, My shop is yours. You know whatever you need from me I'll do what I can. Try to keep Durwood in check and I'll find that song for you. Keep the Crown flowing bud.

Matt B, I'll work on the color coded plugs for you. I'm going to have to make a few sets for sure. 4 sets for you. Let me know if you need anything else.

Mike ( got grass ) Tom and I found a cap for you today. PM me with your address so I can ship it to you. Hope you and your girl had a good time. See you in Buffalo.

John D, Hope the grass starts to grow out there soon. Don't forget to check that plow motor and ground cable, call me when you do the Flush and Clean so we can get the bigger pump to you too. If the OC boys don't like the shirts give them to the grounds crew at the course.

Pelican, I think we may have to get a machine for the GTG next year so you can sing for all of us. Maybe at dinner Saturday night. Tom and I think maybe a shuttle bus for the party crowd too. Himmy liked the down town bars.

Alan, Linda and Hank, It was fun again. Was glad to have Hank and Kimber get along as well as they did. I think she enjoyed the company. I should have closed the door to the kennel before they decided to start coming in. I hope Kimber didn't bother any one either. Make sure to visit again on your journeys to fetch internet goodies. Linda, Amy said thanks again for the help.
Now you know what I ment when I said I built the house to live in.

Chuck and Chris, Thanks for keeping the site up and running for us. Hope to keep the sponsors coming in. I know this was a vacation for you two. Bring Vinnie next time though. I already talked to Mom and she said she'd watch him too Friday night and Saturday morning so you two can go out and party.

Guess Kylie was right Andy, Let her know I said so. She said I typed alot and fast. I exceded the maximum characters in a post so here's the rest guys:

Renda, Hope the Rte 17 / 86 Trip was a senic one. Wish the return could have been as nice as the trip over. Glad you brough your daughter with you.
I'm serious in what I said to you Saturday. I had the blessing for the Snowplowers that Fred had used. I was trying to think of who best to offer it. I was thinking of having Rich do it.
What keep coming to my mind was how much Fred enjoyed your company and your humor and how happy he was to see you roll in last year. He was really bummed that you had said you weren't going to make it. As one of the only guys who knew you were coming it was hard to not tell him.

I wish I could have seen the look on your face on Friday when we were on the phone when Eric walked in with stand up and I told you Fred was here. I could hear it in your voice when you told me not to screw with you. I would have only have been able to be better to have him here when you got here.

Rich, You kept looking at me funny when I kept taking Kool-Aid as my pick last year. Thanks for sharing the story with everyone. I know that there are alot of non drinkers here. I don't condem them as I wish they wouldn't condem those who do. I know that alot of Pepsi has been passed thru the computer over the last years with Plow Dak and others. Like you said alot of us spend time in the chat room at night. That's where some serious bonds have been forged.

Peter, Thanks for all the help. Long calls and concern for those we care about seem to be a common theme. Amy appreciates what you do every year to help things go smoothly. You're my behind the scenes help. Hope to get the 08 stuff in soon so we can start outfitting the new ride. Thanks for passing the bucks in the box collection. It will be put to use for next years spread. Thanks to all who donated also. Amy said it's much easier on her to do the prep and set up. She appreciated everyone bringing stuff in years past and only having to do the meat and the fixings but thought this was easier..............not that I wouldn't like deserts ( we missed you Labs N Ducks ) not just for the cupcakes either.

Fred, Without you this wouldn't have happened. Forget the Erie special. That came about after we racked up countless hours on the phone the first year. You kept challenging me to help make the plow better. I hope we didn't let you down.

The GTG came about because you decided to head down to Erie to get a plow. You opened up the option for a meet and greet at a central location for alot of people. I admit I've got the shortest drive. I went away for a weekend and you put together a gathering of a bunch of guys getting together to see some people they met on the internet. Everyone came in and visited, asked questions, got answers, increased there knowledge and gained alot of new friends. Some people make it every year and some only every couple of years. What occurs though is alot of fellowship with a group of not so like minded individuals who come to learn and share.

Amy and I decided to take Saturday afternoon out to the house to allow us to spread out as well as come together. We are Family. We wanted a family reunion or picnic atmosphere as much as we could and the shop was getting a little crowded as we hit 40+ people. I hope to see the whole house filled in years to come upsairs and down. Like all familys we may feud now and then but we're all there for one another when the chips are down and the stakes are high.

I hope that the MFG's out there understand the opportunity that you provided them for interaction with a core group of operators from a diverse market place. I hope to keep this going and growing every year.

I have to say the improptu Fall GTG we had last year was a great way to kick things off before we got busy down here. I won't forget that. It was a long day and I know it took a toll on you. I don't think you would trade it though either. It was great to see the Wrangler project come together. I know that was one of your big goals for last season. I want to be there for the graduation party to see a big smile on your face. That's a goal I'm looking forward too. I know you won't be able to share in a glass but as I said at the Lube Friday I was hoisting one for you. I'll be hoisting one then for both of you.

Jerre, Amy and Jacob

I think that I have got the pictures ready, I will see if I can get this worked out.

To start, Mark, it was great meeting you, as well as Scott, the leggs and eggs was great. It might have to be a day time get together, I want to go back.

Got to meet a lot of you guys, put names with faces, and also forget a couple of names with faces, you have to forgive me, I don't have that great of a memory.

Todd, it was great talking to you, and sharing some stories. I learned alot from you, hope I can put it to use.

Dave (GMC driver) you are a blast, glad that I got to meet you, I need to come north and have a good time one of these days.

Pete (Gslam) I am glad that you made it, I know that you had said that you weren't going to be able to, but glad you showed up. I wish I would have had more time to talk to you, but you know how things go.

Mark O , you are great, I think it is great that you take as much ribbing that you do, and still have fun with it.

Rich and the boys, you guys are a blast, I want to go out with the boys sometime, I think that we could get into some trouble

Dino, it was nice talking to you, I don't remember your friends name, but we shared some good stories.

Matt (Hnoiltz) you are a blast to be around, I hope that you get the mini beer dispenser that you want.

Renda, you are one of the funniest persons that I have ever met, you kept me laughing all weekend. Rachel is a special girl, you keep an eye on her, but I think that she will be able to handle herself.

Everett, thanks for the beer and the converstation, I see that we have some things in common.

Alan and Linda, it was nice talkng to you, Hank must be a very lucky guy, I know that he ate good for the weekend.

Thomas, you have a beautiful daughter, cherish the time that you have with her, and thanks for the stories at Longhorn.

Jerre, Amy, Jacob alot is owed to you guys, you put on a wonderful gathering. Jacob is a blast to be around, he is such a cute little guy, I thought I had taken some pictures of Jerre and Jacob, but they are not showing up on the camera.

Chuck and Chris, we owe all of this to you guys, without you, this would have never started. Chris, you can make the gravy any time you want, it was great.

Trying to post and answer calls at the same time is not working that well, and I still feel pretty bad.

Fred,

You were there in person and spirit, got a couple of pictures of you and Renda, but I don't think that Chuck would want them posted, lets just say you were smiling.

I don't think there was a dry eye with your letter, along with Bill's and Rich's little speeches. You put up the good fight, there is another GTG in the future, and I want to meet you in person.

Thanks for breakfast, as well as Peter, you guys go above and beyond, I took so much away from this weekend, still trying to digest it all. I know I will be making the annual trip, if not more frequent than that.

Andy, you are an amazing person, a complete inspiration to anyone that meets you. Sorry we didn't get to spend much time talking, there were so many people there, that it could have lasted a week to get to spend quality time with everyone.

Johnny D, it was nice talking to you about mowing, I was cutting grass this morning, and will be at it all week, the way things are going right now, I hope it picks up for you soon.

Rocket, it was nice talking to you, sorry to hear that you are having problems with the basement again, hope you get everything worked out on that end.

I know I left out a lot of people in my earlier post. I had a great time with everybody. I did leave out one very important thank you. Thomas a big thanks for everything you do for the gtg and everything else you have done for me and Andy. Without you and Jerre some tough times would be a lot worse. Oh CRAP I forgot your bottle for the dodge thing again. I'll remember it someday.:wink
Dave(GMC Driver)- Good to get to talk to you a little more this year eh.

I would like to say a few Thank You's also.

Jerre and Amy again you have let us come and have a great time. You guys are the greatest. Thanks for everything.

Thanks to all the hands who helped in the kitchen on Sat. The food was outstanding. I ate way to much for lunch that I was not to upset when I did not get my steak tell going on 9PM.

Thomas Thanks

Chuck and Chris what can I say but Thanks for this wonderfull home at LTS.
And Chuck thanks for the checks you picked up I owe you next year.

Peter I know what you do, Thank You for everything.

Fred You had a dream about a plow that could withstand a Michigan winter, caused a bunch of guys who met on the internet to go to Erie and have a GTG. Thank You.

PS Thanks for picking up the check Sat AM. You be the man.

Chuck

Well took me a min to compose myself this morning after seeing yours everyones were great however there is a group of three my little buddy Jacob and his dad and i guess my cardboard version, lol neat part about the 2D cutout is he shuts up lol. For everyone who doesnt know this During the first GTG in 04 i adpoted two nephews they were both still in there mommys, Amy and Chris were both carrying Jacob and Vinnie ill never forget what troopers they were that year. Chuck since i seemed to have followed you back a pic with Vinnie is most def in order my good friend. Also Chemo does cause loss of hair and regrowth of hair sometimes not even your right color please break out the Krylon and take care of my legs EH!!!!! . The pic of the Jeep is neat cool color lol.

Rich i missed Rendas speach on what must of been Jerres phone i heard yours about the Holy Water and it was very moving , your pics also were great along with Johns Jbutch and Peters.

Bill Renda Iam proud of you yes because you did a hard task for me but because we average about 6-8 hours a week talking on the PC and i have seen your ups and your downs has you have seen mine and you are a great person, Jerre made a comment about how i missed you so much in 05 and the look on my face last year when you and Jay pulled up that was so true laughter eases pain and you have gave me more pain relief than you will ever know, many mornings on the pc you have cheered me up when i was down and i hope the buss advice and life advice i have given you take and build from it your a special person to me buddy.

I missed all of you so much this year , i really missed not seeing Mark O again however i know we will soon, But i wanted so bad to meet JButch John i remember some of your first posts and i know things were not always good for you and that you have turned them around, Dino gosh man that PM was special and i so badly wanted to meet you has well. John CGSI same thing last year when things for you started off bumpy here i knew you were the real deal has well has Chuck and iam glad you stuck around until we got the pestisides sprayed and got rid of insects so you could have a better home here.

Rich i think iam adopting your quote i dreamed of a plow that would withstand Michigan winters, i View Jerre and Thomas much like this during the infant stages of the Eries i was always coaching Jerre much like in the movie Field of Dreams Build it and they will come. Jerre they came and then some, we built a plow that does stand MI winters and your also right many many many hours were spent on cell phones talking about things other than plows thats why i feel we know each others familys so well.

If people didnt get what Jerre was saying about Graduation its because he knows my family 17yrs ago i prayed a prayer to beable to provide for Kryssi and to see her graduate i pull no punches She has been moved to a priv School to speed up her Graduating so i can see my Dream and Yes thats my biggest prayer request is to live long enough to watch that girl walk to that stage with cap and gown and recive that Diploma.

Since this part of the GTG thread is always about thank yous i need to thank someone that wasnt in Erie this year has well , last year i met Dan Agpar matter of fact we roomed together was the first time i had met a person that truly looked out for the Father in all respects to include kidnapping lol. Every morning since i can remember Dan signs on and we talk he has been threw every aspect of my cancer to days before i was diag and was going threw a wicked divorce, without fail he has been there we even fig a way to watch Nascar together and in car scanner,on sunday. Dan just like Bill Renda i hope not only were are chats about life but also i hope you take my buss advice to heart has well. Thanks buddy.

H-fast you thought i forgot you bang up job on the 2-D poster i know Chuck will paint my legs lol thank you that pic is from the Oct GTG after about 12 hours of working and popping pain killers the jacket is my favorite hung up my Carhart coat this winter and wore my present from Jerre all winter the Blizzard coat not only got me warmed up that saturday night J it has been dear to my heart since a good luck charm of sorts, we just need to educate medical staff in Ann Arbor that yes it says Blizzard but they need to read the second line Power Plows many of the nurses because of that coat call me the snow man way to go bud lol.

Again thanks to everyone here at Lts you will always be close to my heart no matter were i end up.

Fred it's funny you talk about holes in the floors of heaven.

I took Jacob with me over to the gas station / convenience store Sunday afternoon. We got stuff for Amy and for the house and visited with the owner for a while. It's been a couple months since he's seen Jacob. We were walking out of the store and down the board walk porch and I was thinking of you. Jacob pointed down to the board walk and there were not one but Two pennies sitting heads up on the walk. You know I scooped them up. T-Zab, Bill and I shared some interesting conversations about the guidance you provided us this last weekend. I think I'll have to get a mapquest laminated for Todd's truck.

See you soon.

Over the past two days I have been reading trying to catch up on what I missed. I definately wanted to be in Erie, but a long planned family vacation kept me away.

It is clear that Jerre and his familyput together a great event. The hospitality has been oerthe top every visit I have made to Erie so this is no surprise.

What I've learned through my reading is that the gtg was an impressive extension of what happens here on line every day. The spirit of this website and the spirit of its members is simply incredible. I wish I could have been there, to savor all of the details, however, the spirit of the event, the spirit of our website, and the spirit of the people is so clear from what is being posted here. Make no mistake, that spirit is powerful. I felt it, and I was 1500 miles away. I'm proud to be a part of this website. I can only imagine what Fred is feeling right now.

Fred, I'm guessing you must feel tremendous pride. Not only are you a part of this group, but I belive that you are one of the people responsible for bringing this group of people together. Without your guts, generosity, wisdom, leadership, and willingness to share I would be less of a person, I wouldn't have an Erie Special on the front of my truck, and I would probably be out of business.

I feel like I'm having a hard time getting my point across.:huh Simply put again, I'm proud to be part of this group. I wish I would have been at the GTG. You should all be proud of how you have helped, and are continuing to help Fred in his time of need. Many of you have helped me when I needed help and I haven't thanked you enough. Thanks

If there is anything I can do to help anybody out, don't hesitate to let me know.

GTG means "Get ToGether" As far as becoming part of the brotherhood, you have already done that by joining LTS. You will grow into the group as you participate more and more I am sure. One thing is the keyword and that is participate. You have been a member for 7 months and only posted 18 times. That number is pretty low for the amount of time you have been a member so I am sure knowbody really knows you that well yet but like I said, the more you participate in the forum you will become more of "the family"

I know the feeling buddy. I worked until 6:30 Friday night and left for Jerres at 8:15pm and got there about 2:15 am Saturday morning with rain predicted at home (started out predicting 2 damn feet of snow). During the morning (while the weather was on in Jerres shop) they put up winter storm watches and warnings for home with 6+ expected. I left at 4:30 pm saturday for the 6 hour ride back home because of it and we only got 2 inches os slop but we did get 8" of rain. I spent almost 13 hours of driving to spend 8 hours with the boys and would do it all again tomorrow if I had the chance.

Let me know when you and Howard are having your GTG because my wife is working in Pueblo and I might be out there for a GTG with her :wink If I am I would be honored to buy you and Howard a Dinner if it works out that I am there. If not I am sure you and Howard can manage to get through it quite well anyway:wink

I had a great time this year. Great seeing everyone again and meeting everyone else. Thank you Jerre for opening up your shop and house to all of us every year to make this possible. You did an amazing job building the house it looks great... Hopefully it will be warmer outside next year or at this rate were going to have to start the BBQ a week earlier next year to expand your garage for everyone to fit. Thanks to everyone for the great food.
Sorry to all those who couldn't make it out due to the "weather" or other reasons. Fred, even though you weren't physically there your presence most certinly was. The look on everyone's face after drinking the holy water was priceless. WHOA, then a big grin. I was scared at first thinking the whole "this tastes like crap try it" or "damn that hurt" & everyone has to do it, type of thing. But damn that was good. Hopefully we can get more from the supplier, try sending him a case of krispy creams.

Thanks to everyone else who bought up goodies to give away & everyone else who keep this possible.

When we pulled up to the shop my girl was "oh great a bunch of old rednecks" soon after she felt right in and had a great time & wants to come back next year.
Dinner was amusing to say the least. We all got an education. Still find it's strange the dish blocks out the Sabres playoff games.
BTW, Harbor Freight has a reciprocating saw on sale for $40. I just may have to pick one up to keep her satisfied.
The country bar wasn't quite what I was expecting but we still had a great time. Thank god for having the hotel right there so we could continue our binge.
Luckily it didn't snow back here, just rain. It was a bit sloppy in Erie & really foggy in the am.

Mark & John- Thanks for the thoughts. I have already bought the plane tickets and paid the symposium fees. I will be in Milwaukee.
Then, we have just (tonight) decided to not move. So, we will be doing a major remodel on the old homestead. That will let us have a Colorado/ midwest GTG some time over the summer. Likely the end of May or first of June. If you want details PM me, and I'll add you to the list. We did this 4 years ago thru the dark side. It was good. Only 6 of us, but we had a good time. Howard, I got a bigger BBQ now. :grinz

Father Fred is a dear friend, he has touched many here on this site. His wisdom and fortitude has played a huge role here in making this site what it is today.
He is a wonderfull caring Father (of 2 beautifull girls) with a heart of Gold, he has helped many people in need. Many here dont know of things this man has done in his life to help others, when they could not help them selves.
The good Lord works in strange ways, and Fred is in the battle of his life. He could not be physically present in Erie so we wanted him there in spirit.
So Yes he is VERY Important to us.

Who's father Fred? I realize he is someone very important to all of you because you bring him where ever you go.

Simple question, tough answer. T said it very well, it would be hard to add to it.

Bring him everywhere we go? I do, he is a dear friend and in my heart and in my thoughts every day. Fred was really looking forward to the Erie GTG, when it turned out he could not make it, I sent a picture of him from our small GTG back in October 06 to Erik aka Haf.AST and asked him to do a life size cardboard cutout of Fred, so "he" could be with us in Erie for the GTG.

Fred is one of the Moderators here (Pickering Snow (http://www.letstalksnow.com/forums/member.php?u=46)) and by far the biggest supporter of this site in every way.

The "Father" title came as a joke, but it turned out in the end that it was not, as he has been a father figure and a person many here look up to, including myself. He had also been a spiritual leader.

At our first GTG in Erie, Jerre (and maybe Fred?) decided to play a joke on Pro Sno and Jay. They had spoken to Fred, and Bill likes to use the F bomb quite a bit. Jerre told Bill that Fred was an Ordained Minister, after Bill had dropped 100 F bombs talking to Fred. So Bill was nervous to say the least. At least that is how I recall it.

Fred has so many qualities that so many of us here wish we had (at least I do) and has tried to help us all learn from his mistakes and his life experiences. He is also an ace mechanic. Old school in many ways, but on the cutting edge in many ways too.

That's all I can say right now....

Since them I have had the honor of talking often to fred either on the phone or our early morning chats on aim. freds shown me things about life I will always cherish. I also know of some incredibly compassionate acts he has done and like a true hero just does them and walks away claiming no fame but remaining the quiet and on purpose man he is.
Our last big storm I was nervous and had talked to fred before it hit. He told me you look her right in the eye and say I can take you. I plowed that storm with a pic of him on my dash and his famous saying (WANGO Z TANGO) and I was in my groove the whole storm. Fred has become closer to me than my own brothers who never bother to think I even exhist.

I really missed you guys this year, the day the date was posted, I marked it in my book, turned away a lot of business, but I said screw it, I wanted to go, needed to go, so I was going..........

Then 3 weeks before the GTG, my brother sends me a Christening card for his new baby (my first and only niece...so far). I haven’t seen her yet and my wife and kids wanted to go to see their new cousin, (my brother lives 500 miles south of me)

It was very hard to decide what to do.......... But blood won, I knew in my heart that I needed to see my brother his wife and their new baby girl (after all she was named after me) my brother & I are very close, so the rest is history.

I really missed not being there, I'm sure there was fun had by all, there were a few people that I wanted to meet that weren’t at last years GTG.

The Pics are great keep them coming, lots of familiar faces...

Fred, Stay strong bud, your in my prayers daily... keep your head down and your powder dry...Godspeed!!!

I WILL see you all at the next GTG !

As I read through this thread, I keep kicking myself for not attending this years GTG. I was planning on making the trip with Mike (labsnducks) and when he told me he couldnt go, I went to priceline.com and started looking up plane tickets. Needless to say I didnt end up making it because I had a ton of work to knock out, not to mention there was a threat of snow over the weekend.

Im glad you all had a blast, seeing the pictures gave me a couple good laughs. Theres so many of you guys I would love to meet, from the chat room, the regular posters and even crazy Jay:D . I have gained so much knowledge from this site, not to mention a bunch of friends. You all are always willing to lend a hand.

Jerre and Bill, I was lucky enough to meet you two at the NTEA show last year and put some faces to names.

To Chuck, I can't thank you enough for all the help and advice youve provided for me. This site is a big part of my life and even though I don't have 1000 posts, I really do consider myself a LTS.com addict.

Fred, man your a riot. I remeber way back you posted a bunch of pictures of your all red fords, with all red plows (even that sneaky meyer that you painted up red) ANd the last picture was of you in that hat. Man that gave me a good laugh, and needless to say that hat became famous.

Needless to say I love this site and all its members, and I look forward to being involed with it for years to come, including next years GTG!!!

In closing Id just like to offer a great big THANK YOU, to every member for making this site what it is and for letting me know there are others out there that love plowing snow as much as i do.:p

Nice word fellows but iam no diff than anybody here , have lived a full life and has my dad left this earth in 84 left me with a peice of advice i have carryed with me every since. He told me Fred there are Movers and Shakers in other word Deeds not words i have just simply lived my life that way.

You set your goals and make your dreams come true everyone here is capable of this , hard work and no quitting is allowed my Dad raised me on tough love and i suppose i have carryed that little jewel with me has well.

Trust me since the days on the Darkside i have learned from all of you. Honestly it started reading Chucks chevy pages one winter day i instantly related to him has he and his brother had also plowed snow together.

I belive that what ever my fate my be i have lived a good life have given breaks to people who i knew fell on hard times and just needed a boost, those same people are back up and running on there own power.

My goal here is to see this site grow with the Family style group we have i have seen everyone reach out to other memebers in need and thats what makes this site strong, i have watched Chuck stand on soild ground with manfactures and every sponsor here we All have earned one at a time has a group, we may not have a banner station flying over our heads right now but ill tell you the sponsors we have are Real people and interact with out concerns and needs.

On the Father thing it truly started much like chuck said with Renda but the true fun came by letting John D and Steve know i was a priest when they showed up that night i played the roll til like saturday and walked up to Johnny and laid about 7 F bombs on him the look was priceless on his face.

Fellows there is no I in team and we are a Team of experts here everyone has taught everyone something i learn everyday here. Again my goal is to see this site grow but not with false numbers and that we can thank Chuck for, this site is much like Cheers everyone knows everyone.

To all new members jump in and ask a question make your presents felt and that will make you feel more like a part of this great family here.

LOL!!! I was remembering that Fred when Chuck described the joke. We arrived a few hours after everyone else that year and had received a phone call from Bill warning us that Fred was a minister and straight as an arrow, that he was very sensitive to profanity. I walked up and shook his hand for the first time and we talked for a few minutes, I was on eggshells the whole time.

I don't remember what you said Fred, but I recall I just stood there looking at you with my head cocked sideways. I wasn't sure but I thought I had just heard some talk that would make a truck driver blush! Then you repeated it, I still wasn't sure what to do! When everyone around us busted out laughing I finally got it. That's about the best joke anyone has played on me!! As I recall it was soon followed by a big sip of Kool-Aid!

We had a hell of a ride home this trip, parts of it white knuckle. I arrived home to the worst flooding my area has seen since many can remember. My oil burner also had crapped out that day, plus I've had a slew of voice mails to answer for the business. I'll get a post up this weekend with my thoughts.

Short story is I had a blast at the GTG, the only thing that would have made it better would be to have bar hopped with Fred and get our hangover antidote at the Eat & Puke!!

Fred when I talked to you yesterday I wanted to ask so badly if you had got them yet. Rich was wondering also. Couldn't spoil the suprise for you.

Dave brought those awesome videos and we watched his and Riches and Matt's old school truck Friday and Sat. Didn't get a chance to burn Matt's video maybe I can talk him into sending a copy over to us.

Glad you enjoyed them. Hoped to have more for you.

J.

P.S. Wish I could have made a ride along this winter. Tell Kryssi that she must have learned a few things this winter to take the Wrangler on her own and suprise her Uncle.

Jerre, The one you guys saw of the old white and I had another but because I didn't finalize it on my recorder you couldn't view it. If someone explains how to record them on Media player I will be glad to make you a CD.
