problem with wireless remote on ramsey winch

I have a problem with the wireless remote on my ramsey 15000lb winch. When i click either the in or out buttons on the wireless remote all i get is a click sound from the membrane from the wireless remote(black square box that gets mounted with a ground wire) Does anyone know what would cause this? What should i check first? Thanks
