How do I adjust pump. My problem is that my plow slams down too fast and hard.. I have a older style western pump. Thank you

If everything else works fine,it's probably just a quill adjustment.
On the top of the valve block, there is a small flat head screw.Turn it in to slow the drop speed. It is a very sensitive adjustment,1/8-1/4 turn is probably all you will need.

Thank you.. Is the check valve adjustment on the back of the pump? :)

Older Western the drop valve is on the back of the pump housing, loosen the large nut 1/4 turn, hold nut in that possition, screw allen screw in 1/8 to 1/4 turn, tighten nut. Make this adjustment with the blade down, less chance of blowing out oring under nut
