Hi, I have Chevy Suburban 1980 4WD and I would like to know what was the largest tyre size what you get to Chevy from factory in 1980? Here in Finland we have some difficulties to put a little larger tyres than 31”x10,5”x15 (original size + “national few inches”). And if I can prove that GM has sold bigger “first time” tyrer I can put bigger tyres, for example 35”x12,5”x15”... So, what was the max tyre size???
Sorry my english, but I hope everybody understan what I try to say...

Harri - You can fit 33" x 12.5" x 15" tires on a stock 80's Chevy truck with minimal rubbing as long as the suspension is fresh! I don't know what the max size that Chevy made available but my guess would be a 31" tire. There is no way a 35" tire will fit without modifying the suspension by 4"; something that Chevrolet would not have done in production for liability (insurance) reasons.

Good luck!

I believe 31" was the biggest stock

32" fit with no worries and you can go bigger if you dont mind triming the fenders a bit. 33's will fit but may rub under hard use.
