IMO,it is highly unlikely to happen. Here's why,the engine is too big,too heavy, and too expensive for starters. The entire truck would require to be built for it up front. Not to mention it would require emissions recertification and a power rating change. I know they could build it,and I think it would be very cool if they did build it .:D .

They seem to having a relationship . So they must be talking . I agree at a hefty #1425 it isnt feasible . Wonder if they have something smaller on the drawing board . To bad one of the big three cant do something with CAT - pickup wise
I'm 99.9% sure it won't happen. Cat has no intrest in the light duty truck market and every diesel truck board I come across say's the same. They just don't want to have to spend the ungodly amount of money it would take to develope an engine to meet the 2010 emissions standards. Besides I think Toyota has a diesel engine they put in their trucks in foreign countries, so I can't imagine them going out of house to have diesel developed for a truck when they already have one.
Toyota as well as Isuzu and Nissan have been running diesles in small trucks in other countries for well over 20 years. For some reason they do not send them to the US. It is probably because of the emmissions standard,
