went to the masscon show today .It was filled with some great equipment and som nice hooklift set ups with sanders on them . I saw a few things i would love to get as always lol .

I will say that the 2008 fords are going to drive you crazy if you have a plow hooked up and want to open the hood, yep that's right you can't get it open with the plow hooked up . and if you need to do anything under the hood forget about it.

Going in tomorrow. The storm seems like it will be late.

Don when ya go look at the boss plow on the 250 and try to open the hood you will laugh the fisher will probably be worse as we where looking at the fishe over at the brake and clutch booth on the old style . Look at the international over at HP fairfield that was a sweet set up.

OK, heading in, in a couple hours. Going to stop at dry-dock also. The JFK is in the harbor. More than 60,000 people expected over the weekend. The news is saying people start to line up at 2:00 a.m. for tours and the lines are more than a half mile long.

Lot's of equipment, again. Plenty of safety stuff. They were raffling a Tundra off. I wonder if it was the one without the body :D Those Fords sure are big but I don't like the changes to the grills. Didn't another truck OEM try that a few years back? We mainly shopped larger trucks. I'm trying to decide the best option for us now. They sure are pushing 5500's. If we run state highways I just can't see thos being able to handle the workload.

Well, it's past 4pm and I did not get a phone call so I guess I didn't win the Tundra:(

I did get down to the dry dock and saw the JFK from a distance.

Just curious.

What makes you think you wont be able to open the hood with the plow on? I was looking at them at a dealer yesterday and didn't think there was going to be an issue.

You would have to run the Fisher cables out of the bumper. The whole grill raises up and the radius looked as if it would come close to hitting the head gear.

gordyo,

You made it down there? Too many people and not enough parking when we tried. The police had it pretty well blocked off. I'm hoping to make it down again on the weekend.

My cables on my 05 already come out of the bumper.

As far as the hood, it should already be at it's maximum point forward. Onece it starts to go up it should be getting further waway not closer as long as it's hinged conventionaly.

The exterior hood release is located on the left hand side(facing the truck) just off the edge of the seam between the grill and light housing assembly. (see the yellow latch handle on the attached pic) I really don't see that being that big an issue.

If you went to the mascon and tried to open the ford with the boss plow you would know what i mean .Don did you see it ? it was over on the far right side. go in the truck open the latch for the hood go to that filmsy yellow latch and try to push up . it will not , not with out hitting the plow , now i'm curriouse about the dodge boys here they have the same hood set up . did they ever hit?
