Ok I have a fisher speed caster II I do not want to down size my class v hitch and do not want to have the in bed mount . how would you guys fabercate a mount to fit into the 2" reciver hitch and still have stability from moving and be able to hold that weight plus 10 cu ft of sand-salt-mix? this would be to mount on an '05 350 p/u

Thats alot of weight hanging off the hitch, but if it can handle it get 2x2 solid stock going into the reciever. Then maybe some 3/8 2x2 angle and welded to it with some gusseting on the bottom then get some 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and weld a piece on each end of the spreader and put some 2x2 x 1/4 mounted to the spreader and drop it in place then pin it up... Not too famailiar on how the mount is setup on that spreader.......

It will supp the weight, but it will still be wobbely, your going to have to at least anchor it to the top of the bed rails, or maby brackets coming down to the bumper on an angle.
