Looking to put a 10' V on a F-450. Anybody have any feedback on the plow? Iam concerned about the width going down the road, in the V postion it is 107" wide. The legal width is 102" ???:huh

I had a 9'2" V ,and i know one guy who had a 10ft V locally. If it were me,id consider another plow if it is an option.3 seasons and the 10ft is pretty much tweaked, and they truck is driven gently,IMO. The hydros are great, but its not built heavy enough for an F450,IMO.A for width,it is 102",so if tis wider, you may have a problem.

Thanks for the reply, I am also looking at a 8611, not to start any trouble on a Boss site. Just trying to make the best decision for the F-450. I am doing resid. & comm. Thats why I like the 8'6' to 11'.

What kind of plowing are you doing with it ? Roads ? or open lots ?

An 8611 would be better suited to open lots, but they aren't bulletproof for roadway plowing.A good HD road blade may be a better option.

I have a 450 also I have a pretty good mix of Res and Comm properties. I have a 9.5' fisher on the F450 and Just put a 810 on the new pick up. Both trucks can do all my properties if need be.

Like Wyldman said. I wouldn't plow streets with the 810 though.

Open lots (gas sta., banks, small plazas, etc.) & resid. driveways. One man operation, Ive been plowing for 30 yrs. Looking for the right match for effec. operation. I need the 450 for pulling a heavy ctl during the year. Thanks for the info.

Probably an 8611 lo pro would be your best bet.The full size 8611 is a monster, and a lot heavier, and more $$$.The 8611 LP is 400 lbs lighter, which would be a lot easier on the 450's front end.

If your lots are smaller, like banks and strip malls, the lo pro will be fine. The full size 8611 would only be more productive on bigger lots.

It just depends on how much weight you want to hang off the front.

I've got a 10' V on a F700. Bigger truck but unless they changed the design drastically from 4 years ago I wouldn't buy another. Wings tear at the center hinge easily, bent the wings etc. I too would look at a Blizzard or a Boss straight blade.
