You know how the area on the windshield under your wiper blades freeze up.(where the wipers park) I thought of something, and it worked. I bought some register deflectors. They are the clear plastic deflctors that you could put on your home registers to deflect the air into the room instead of up the wall. I just layed them on top of 2 of the 4 defroster vents and it worked good. I am always a skeptic about every new trick so I am keeping them handy for every storm to try them out. I think I found the ticket though!!!!!!!

Sounds like it just might be crazy enough to work. Good one Happy.
Couldn't we just wedge a sheep in there though and keep that area warm?

so you are talking about inside the cab? stick one of those on the dash near the vents. but wouldn't you get some fogging higher up above those vents at certain times.

A little foggin up would occur possably if all vents are directed to the wiper area only. However I have 4 total vents in the 03 dodge and only put the deflectors on 2 of them. Once when I had the selector switched placed on floor and defrost I had a small patch of thin ice starting to form in the middle halfway up on the windshield. One way to get rid of this I think is that I am going to cut out a small 1/2" by 3" long hole out of the back of the 2 vents so that a portion of the air from the 2 covered vents would still go up the windshield. Beware though, I have only used these deflectors for only 1 storm and am still testing them to see if it is a bulletproof idea or just a bad idea.

Oh Boy, and I thought this was a thread about how to keep your Backside warm. Something like "crack heater", or something to keep ya from icing up when ya bend over, oh well. sheep
