Ive got a meyer plow set up on the dodge. I swaped it off an old truck we had, and it had the older stule GIGANTIC lights on it. Those were breaking apart, and impposible to see around so ive been using a set of fog lights in place of them (wich are still pretty bright) and keeping the plow low so i can still use part of the headlights and people can still see the turn signals. Needless to say THIS SUCKS. So im wandering what is a fairly cheap light set up to put on this and still have a good amount of light. Keep in mind this is an old meyer with a slow E47, and I need the harnesses for what ever brand I get.
So basic question: WHATS THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!:cash

Hey Buddy Truck Lite brand work real well for us. I took the night sabers off a long time ago, and installed a set on mine, the boys also have them on there Meyers units. When I switched plows this summer I keep my Truck Lite units (already had my strobes mounted in them) and mounted them on the Blizzard tower.
Check out www.discountsnowplowparts.com this is where we got most of the ones we have now.

Did the universal wiring kit that it comes with work out pretty well?
Does it stil have high and low beam?

I picked up a drivers side night sabre for $122 or so.. from central parts wharehouse..http://www.centralparts.com .. might be worth a shot...for a pair.. cheaper than I could get locally... or ebay...

The wiring works ok (some trucks take longer than others) , and you will have high and low beams, marker lights and turns on the tower and the truck.

I'll second what Rich has said. I run the same lights on both trucks, they are fairly unobtrusive and hold up well. If your shop around, you should be able to find them for $99 a pair which will include a universal install kit.

Grote makes a nearly identical set to Trucklite. Getting harder to find though online. About $130 a pair.

Actually saw the Grote lights on the shelf today at 495 Truck Center in Marlborough, MA.

Maybe a couple of my suppliers list them as "Discontinued" because everyone seems to want a set of stadium lights on the front of their trucks now :D
Old school sealed beams are fine for me. In 5 years I never changed a bulb on the Grotes. Never broke a housing. Never had a problem. Somehow I was still able to see where I was going :beatsme

The new Western and Fisher plowlights are one of the best out there. You can find them for under $200.
Yes,they are a little more expensive than regular sealed beam lights, but you get so much more for the money.Dual stud mounting, totally sealed, vibration free, long bulb life, etc.
You may need to add to your head gear to accomodate the two stud mounting, but it's well worth it.

I agree, after having used mine a few times salting, and just leaving the headgear lights on,they are 100% better than anything I've had.As far as looking around them,I dont even notice where they are, they arent in my line of sight or my way at all.

Iam old school has well guess my lights dont bother me the best lights i have are the ones on the jeeps overhead bar they light up a football field lol.
I think if i was feeling better i might try the Sabres on at least one but i just dont feel like modding right now. Besides Erie 1 and 3 will both be for sale in the spring so who ever buys them can make ness changes if they like.
