That is pretty nice 442 it is a bit narrower (fits on a car trailer) so that helps. It is a shame he messed up the classic grill with the square headlights though....
If you can't figure out why you NEED something like this, you must not be married:jk
Seriously though... we have snow "usually" from October through May in the mountains.

Back about 10 years ago I worked at a Ski Area during the winters on the snow making crew and got to drive one of those Tuckers around it was a blast. Used to haul the snow guns around the mountain, alot of times though we had to back the guns down the hills cause if you try driving it down the gun will slide around and jack knife. I used to ride alot of times with the groomer operator those things are awsome, we used to run two Piston Bullys, and they had three tuckers.

Give me a hydro LMC or Piston Bully anyday, those old 4 speeds were death traps:( Although i'm just assuming that one's a manual shift?
I groomed and made snow also at a local ski resort for a number of years, first couple hours is pretty cool but it can get boring so that's when you head'er to the double diamond trails:burnout ,those will wake ya up in a hurry:D

Those are all cool machines. :shades Tracks like that are available for pick up trucks also, I think it was posted here somewhere a while ago. I think they are pretty costly though. Mike

Some steer just like a truck with a steering wheel but most of the ones i've run "skid" like a dozer with left and right controlls.

The tuckers with the four tracks have front and rear steering that is hydro assist.
Two track sno cats can either wet brake one side or hydro sno cats can reverse one track. The LMC/Thiokol sprytes actually use an Oliver tractor company differential
The Tuckers have a few HUNDRED grease points on their metal tracks.

Hey Howard,
When I worked at Purgatory ski area in college, they had a 318 powered Tucker. It was a 4 spd manual tranny. The Thiokol was a 200 cu in Ford 6 cyl with a 3 spd. Really bad if the clutch goes out on the mountain ! Let me know when you've got it running. (even stock) I would come over to ride. Those Tucker's will go about anywhere... :D

It is running great right now. Only has 800 hours on it. I am going to go try and pick it up tommorrow if I can "Safely" get it on my trailer.

Ok, So 2 tracks is a regular skid steer set-up and the 4 track models have a hydraulic assisted regular steering set-up? I was just wondering how you could turn those tracks, they look at least 4' long! Thats gotta be some BEEFY steering set-up!:grinz
