can a guy relpace the two toggles with a touch pad without changing the harness itself ? and if so what do you do?

Well, it would help if we knew what kind of controler/plow you were looking at doing this with. Then I am sure there are people here who might have run into this situation before and can tell you if they can be upgraded. I would also look up the manufacturer on the web- they might have the part listed right there with the models it will interchange with.

Yes it can be done, but.... A new harness is around $50 - $75. Well worth it, and pretty easy to install. Then it is just plug n play. There are two different ends for the two different touch pads. I have both harnesses at the shop and can take a look tomorrow.

yeah meyer i bought a touch pad for 20 bucks used , well i got a bunch of stuff for 20 and in one of the boxes was a touch pad that had the factory plug cut off and put all male spades on it so i went and got the meyer manual and got it wired with the schematic given in the book and it works fine but i wondered if there was a way someone did this without eliminating the toggles so if the pad goes out you could stiil use the toggles. not knowing the history of the pad i am leary of it till i get to use it alot and see it will be dependable. so i just put the spades in the plugs on the harness. for now . i wondered if there was a better way thats all?
