Last year I sent in for a free sample of Fluid Film, that never came. On there web site I located the nearest dealer and went and got some and loved it! Unfortunately the dealer is 63 miles away. I'd like to try to keep "in house" so does anyone here distribute FF and if so Would you let me know your prices plus shipping to 01238. I'd like to know prices on spray cans as well as gallons and 5 Gal. If you don't want to post it you can pm me or email me at co4ric@aol.com. Thanx

Thanks guys. You'll all be interested to know that Fluid Film is the lubricant of choice for the US Navy. They use it on lots of things and Eureka even has a special dispenser (that no one likes) for them because they can't have aerosols on the submarines.

Many of you know that NASA also uses Fluid Film, as do most of the airlines.

Another trick is to spray snow shovels and moldboards with Fluid Film. It works better than the vegetable oil sprays.

Peter do you sell it in the 1 gallon jugs? What type of sprayer is best to use?

I stock both spray cans and gallons.

Bulk Fluid Film is a bit cumbersome to use as it doesn't spray terribly well. You have to use an airless spray rig at very high pressure, and even then results aren't terriffic. Typically bulk is used by those who can't use the aerosol due to confined space.

The spray is the best bet because the propellant allows the product to penetrate into nooks and crannies.

Call, PM, or e-mail for LTS pricing. Free UPS ground shipping to the lower 48.

You will also be intrested to know its is the offical Wackshed lub at Pickerings dang stuff has so many uses .

I do spray the 5 gallon buckets and it sprays threw a Shootz rust proofing gun what i do to thicken it a bit is add about a 1/4 worth of Texaco clear rustproofing to thicken it up. On a side note i think it only took like 4-5 cans to coat the whole bottom of the Jeep and like Peter said you can direct it a little better with the cans with the straw on it. So a full size truck may take a case but is doable without spray or bulk style. Another thing alot of people dont know is FF is a byproduct of Ginger's cousins LOL

I can't believe it took this long for this to come up! lol

You can also get it in bulk, just ask Fred, J & T, they saw my bulk tanks last summer. :rolling :rolling

I'll ditto the fast shipping from Peter, and if you get on his special list, you get some really neat catalogs. :grinz

Rick,

Pittsfield Lawn and tractor claims to carry Fluid Film. I gave up on them after checking on my order for the third time.

Good to know that a site memeber caries it.

PLT will never see me again! I think that the only reason the Ski brothers are still around is it's so far to go to someone else. I have spent between 35 and 40K there in the last 5 years. Needed a part for my 4400 a few weeks ago, took over an hour to get someone to even see if they had it in stock.

Is this stuff like PB Blaster, Goof-Off, WD-40, oil, wax or something else all together? Do you replace something else with it (grease, oil, spit)? I don't see anyone around here selling it. Where do I find a sample?

The local Napa store here had it on their shelves last week,i was surprised to see it there. If the portland store has it,im sure the others must be able to get it also.

Ditto......beside a rust preventitie coating what are other uses? It work like spray antisieze in non high temp applications? How well does it keep nuts and bolts from fusing together long term?

I've been using it for years,it is a good product. It is not an all-in one solution though.

As a penetrant,it doesn't work well. While it does have some capillary action,is is a little too thick to get in where it is supposed to.A proper penetrating solution works better for unsiezing stuff. It will help compared to using nothing though.

As a lubricant,it's pretty good.Things that require light duty lube that sticks,it's great.Door hinges, chains, pivots etc.Anything that sees high pressure would be better off with a proper grease.

As a protectant,it works great. Not as good as some of the high $$$ specialized stuff, but it does a pretty good job.If you spray it in thin short bursts, you can build up a pretty thick layer which sticks.Coating solenoids, relays, wiring, ect works really good. The odd touch up is required to keep the protection up.Works good as a metal protector if you touch it up regularly.Wroks good on hydraulic cylinder rams between storms. For long term storage, grease works better.

As an anti-sieze,it is OK.For bolts that are removed every once and a while,it works good. For stuff that will be together for a lonf time,or bolts exposed to salt,a proper anti-sieze would be better. The best part about it,is it is easy.Just spray all your bolts,or spray it in the hole, and your done.Anti-sieze takes a lot of time to apply.

It is very easy on the skin too.Other lubes can be hard on the hands.

For most tasks in the shop,it is my first choice.

This was my thought. Seems the goobers dont like to put stuff together with anti sieze. It is a PITA to work with. But if it has a somewhat deceent capilary action and it stays on somewhat deccent and protects ok. Might actualy get them to zap the bolts with that stuff as its easy to apply.....and if it works as acceptable for this application.....well something is better than nothing.

Come on Chris, these are just way too easy. You have to try to make it a little difficult. :wink

I mean, I'm sure Renda knows all about the first line and the last 2 are just perfect fodder for more Whack Shed jokes. :grinz

Make me think a little bit, would you?

That's funny, John, I ended up talking with Peter for a long time the first time as well. I always get a good laugh at one or another of his stories.

If you get on his good side (I think) he sends out nice shoe catalogs and really cool CD's too. sheep sheep :ff
