Hey there guys, I am not sure where this should go, but this looks like the best place.
I am looking for a GOOD 3-3.5 ton floor jack.
Needs to be good, cheap, and lift at LEAST 23". Also needs to either be able to get locally, or have free shipping.
Any ideas??
Thanx!

Check out costco i got my jack there for $80 bucks its 3.5 ton heavy duty floor jack ive had it for two years no problem and i still see it in the store when i go. They also have a nice motorcycle jack i may buy too.
The jack i have is the same as napa's that goes for close to $150 so for under ahoundred is good. And i can lift the front of my truck with the plow in the up [osition as well.
Hope this helps

sears has deccent jacks for 100 or so gennerally with jack stands
Lincoln makes really good jacks but unfortunatly they arnt made in the USA anymore :( (I think they were the last to leave?)
One thing I hate about my sears and other cheaper jacks is that they have those goof POS spider gears at the end of the twisty handle  The U joint ones are much nicer/smoother and make it easier to not drop the car harshly.
Stay away from Al for an every day type jack IMO

Cool! Thanx guys!
If your looking for a good but cheap jack, then I would go with this on: click here (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00950148000)
I bought one a few months ago. It's very nice, a lot better than the "2.5 ton" wal-mart jack I had that was crap from day one.
It is a 3.5 ton jack that comes with 2 3.5 ton stands and I got a free creeper when I bought mine.
However, lift height is 20in. You could probably put a 6x6 block on it though if you need 23", but use a stand if you are going under:)
I paid $100 plus tax for the package (jack, stands, creeper).

I knew someone spent about 2-3 weeks in the hospital from haveing a car drop on him. Luckily it was just a fiat!:D I ALWAYS use stands!! :greenange As Far as useing a block, I am going to no matter what if I put bigger tires on! lol Oh well. Thanx guys, I may just end up with a big bottle jack. Cheap and stable, plus 20 tons! lol:D

This jack is small enough to carry in your cup holder, so it's with you all the time! Price ain't bad either. I saw on up close... pretty kewl! They even sell matching alloy jackstands.

20-tons is a bad trade for a jack that's unstable from having nowhere the footprint a floorjack has. A bottle jack will tip very easily unless it's welded to a large, heavy steel base. At that point the rolling floorjack still wins!

Right, Thats why I was thinking a BIG bottle jack.
I know my 5-6 ton base is only 3-4 inches square.
I have seen some of the bigger ones on a 8-10" wide base.
I can use the wood for my hi-lift if I need to use it on dirt. (16x20" or so)
I like the Harbor freight one tho! lol:D :grinz
