My first plow. I have installed the mount & wiring for the RT3 Boss Straight blade. Everything works except the Smartswitch to put the plow on the truck. The hydraulics work left & right (through controller) and makes noise for up (all the way up already). The Smartswitch does nothing.
How do I diagnose the problem?
Also, with the plow in the current position, how do I access the cover for the pump, etc? It is blocked.
Any help is appreciated.

Make sure your ignition is on and your controller is in the "float" position. The smart hitch wont work unless it's in Float.Hope this helps.

I tried the switch with the truck running (lights work, etc). I pushed down on the controller and the plow moved slightly (assume this is the float position). The switch still isn't working. I think I'm going to try a new switch.

Hold the controller in the down position until the button color changes from green to red. This is the float position. Then try the smart switch. No power to the switch unless the control light is red or you're holding it down.

P.S. floor jack and you can usually raise plow enough to take the top cyl pin out to access under the cover.

Plow should drop though when you hit the lower postion. If it's a RT3 then the above works. If it's not the RT3 wiring then one position the plow works from in the cab lift/ lower and the other powers the head gear up towards the truck when you hit the lift switch.
