This week has been a very interesting week around the shop. Me and Bill (ProSno) and our buddy John (the painter) decided it was time to paint the Erskine snow blower which is mounted to the back of the Ford 2120 tractor for sidewalk duties. At first the project was going to consist or a simple repaint of the traditional Yellow and Black but has turned out to be far more crazy.

Check out all the pictures and youll love whats happened so far and the rest thats yet to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I now have a new respect for plows. Such detail goes into making them look nice as well as run smooth. Take it from this PA lady, our plow/trucks here **can not* hold a candle to what I have just seen

Thanks Bill and Jay for the pics, looking forward to more :D

Unbelieveable!! These shots are awesome! My dad wants to do something similar to his tractor- as well as building a blower for it(don't ask why- retired, way too much time on his hands!LOL) I will have to show him these pics to give hime some ideas! Thanks for sharing guys! Now someone just needs to send these to Discovery Cahnnel to run ashow on your crew!!

First, you guys do some awesome work. Second, you guys use that for sidewalks? What do you do, scare the snow out of the way. You guys must have some wide sidewalks in Conn. I have been thinking about buying a blower for my tractor. It just sits in the winter pretty much. Do you guys have a seperate route for the tractor or do you leave it on site? Do you like the rear blower and front bucket team? Or would you like a front blower?:)

snowplowjay
01-04-2004, 02:11 PM
Theres a large account that we do that has a major sidewalk which needs a serious blower to maintain. Right now it is trucked over on our equipment trailer to this particular account the day before the storm and tucked away in a back corner of the lot till the snow starts flying. Can't beat the 3pt hitch mounted blower. If your looking into a rear mount for your tractor check out Erskine. You'll be impressed with them for sure.

Maybe you should let us do up your machine a little for you with some mild flames or some tribal stuff :)

Snowplowjay, I see that yours is a back up style. Do you get a sore neck from backing up all the time? I looked at their product line and they have ones that you pull forward. Do you know anyone who has one?

Billy is the operator of this unit when it comes to snow blowing. There arent too many big jobs like this one around our area here so I can't say that I have seen one of the frontal models in our neck of the woods.
