OK the quill to adjust my drop speed is seized up... I have been soaking it in kroil for week and it still will not budge... I am afraid to use vise grips on it because I do not want to break it off in the valve body...
I tried heating the quill itself with a torch, and still nothing...
Any suggestions???

Your heating the wrong part.Heat around the quill, and hit it with cold water then turn.Heat will expand the metal, and the cold water will shrink the screw so you can turn it.
Before you go possibly breaking something, does it need to be adjusted ?

It is fine where it is for now, but I typically adjust it depending on the type of snow wer have... i.e. heav wet snow I will have it drop a bit faster to help break through. Is there anything I should worry about when I heat the volve body, should I remove anything first??

Tried working the quill again last night... it is starting to move... I can get about 1/16th of a turn now... so it is getting there....
