I was hopping with the large amounts of snow recieved two weeks ago that I would be able to head up North this week since the college is shut down and I am off for the week and try out my new to me sled, but I just finished looking at all the trail reports for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont and things don't look too good. I can't believe everything went downhill so fast after the trails got hammered with snow. It was looking like it was going to be a great start to the 2003-2004 snowmobile season.

No Snow!
Sleds are all set to go, but waiting for some more snow. I have a friend that went to the Rangley area two weeks ago and he said it was hit or miss. Trails were great in sections and poor in others. Maybe Bill and Jay can do their snowdance up here if they come to McLeans to look at FWD's and Osh Kosh's!

Hmm, a snowmobile thread, good idea. ;) What kind of sleds do you guys own and ride? Anyone got any pictures of their sleds? Please post them if you happen to have any. :) Mike
I found a new site that gives updated riding conditions just about every day for the Adirondacks. And the guy who has it is a weather guy.
His site is at.

Went riding once this year with the kids, we went out behind my brother in laws house and rode the hay fields and some trails that went between them in the woods.Conditiojs were nice but then 2 days later we got all the rain.

I took a lap around the front yard a couple weeks ago. No snow since then.

Northern Vermont mainly eastern Chittenden county and all of Lamoille county have snow and decent trail conditions. We have been getting a inch or two everyday in between rain storms.I went out a few days ago and had a blast! :D .It's going to rain this weekend unfortunately.:(

I've been able to put about 400 miles on so far. We have been getting dumped on for the last week and they say it is to continue until Wed. Avalanche danger has been failry severe so I am waiting until things settle. I'll try and remember the camera next time I go out and get some action shots.

We haven't got enough to really make it fun, not even in the ditches. Right now there is nothing. I took the 4 wheeler and plowed a couple jumps in the previous storm, that was about it.
Still waiting......
waiting.......
waiting........

1998 Polaris XLT 600 triple touring:
I will get a picture once I get it out of the enclosed trailer.
I did take the opportunity this afternoon since there is still no good riding yet and removed the ripped seat, what a chore that was and took it to the upolstering shop to have the ripped section fixed. Hopefully it will be back next week and I can put it back together.
Here's a Pic of a couple of years ago up on Indian Lake.I sold this sled(1998 MXZ 500) to one of my in laws but i still use it sometimes.

Another pic. Up on the trail that goes over the moose river plais to old forge/inlet.

I can't wait for the inland lakes to freeze, so I can take the quad out. It seems like its never gonna happen....:soapbox
That was my brothers, :(
He just sold it this past week,
Sold it for $1800.00, first guy who looked at it snatched it up.
1999 vmax sx 500 with 1" camoplast track with 96 studs in it, Traction control rods,he changed the gearing to the 2000 spec's(after my 2000 sxr 500 smoked him) and new chain put in at the same time. Also had a low blue windshield installed, and had the original for a spare.
He also put on a tether cord so he could race it in the long lake 100 mile race.

I've posted this before, but not in this thread so here it is again
Lime Park two years ago -
I've always wanted to go out west riding in the mountains.
I would love the chance to do it sometime in the future, but now that they're trying to put all the limits on yellowstone park and some of the other parks i don't know if i'll ever make it out there.
My brother ended up selling his sled to get some quick cash,(due to a marital situtation)
Lawyer fees and such will eat it up fast.(been there, done that)
So don't think he'll be buying anything in the near future. He was looking at Polaris's xc-sp models before all that happened.
