I have a 76 K20 that I use as a plow truck. Today the one line running from the master cylinder to the pressure combination valve on the front frame crossmember started to leak. I cannot get the line off of the valve. The line is stripped and I cannot get a vise grip into that area and the use of heat seams like a bad idea. Any ideas?
I thought of cutting the line to the valve and replacing it but I cannot find one at parts stores. I cannot be the first person with this problem and do not feel like taking it to a brake shop where they will want to replace everything. This is soley a cheap plow truck that runs well and I do not want to put a ton of money into. HELP.

Mike Starzman.

I meant to say "one of the lines leading from the master cylinder started to leak." There are two lines leading to the combination pressure regulator valve.

Take a sharp chisel, and cut the line off flush with the nut,you can then use a socket to try and remove it.A universal style stud extractor can also be used.

The fittings are nothing special, the parts store should have a premade line that is pretty close in length to replace yours with.

You can use heat, just go easy.A more powerful torch, like oxy\act will work better.Heat it up,then spray the nut with cold water, and crack it loose.
