Any more info on this? This thing looks awesome. One pass and your done.
I wonder how fast the hydraulics are on it. I can see possibly some of the time you shave you end up wasting on getting the wings to come in so you can raise it and push the snow away with the front blade.
$10000 is a heavy price tag for this but I guess I can see why.

I would imagin you need a reall heavy truck to pull that much snow, thats loader work at that size. sure would make quick times in the light stuff though.

I know a little bit about the swing wing. Ill tell you what I know about them.
These plows are popular in an area a bit east of me. They weight about 750/800 pounds. The hydraulics run off of either a pony motor or central hydraulics. Ive seen on in person, but never ran one. For wings to go from folded in to folded out take about as long as a regular plow to raise off the ground to fully up. A couple seconds or so. They would work good for doing driveways but rarely are driveways 16ft wide, many of them are wider then that. So more then one past would be required.
In my personal opinion, they are to wide. For running this plow on parking lots, it does seem that it would clear out the valleys in an asphalt lot.
A company that does work for me is talking about adding one so after seeing one in person my opinion might change.
Hope this helps

I just ordered one from Jim Ebling. I actually got an all electric model because my 03 came with a front blade! His are quite different than the one in that pic because the wings actually go about 5Degrees back to make it windrow better. Total price for the backblade INSTALLED is 6700 plus tax, not to bad!

Jon,
Thats not a bad price at all considering how well built Jim's blades are. Make sure you post pictures.

I think it helps that quite a few of our snowfalls are "lake effect" which translates to a very light, easy to plow type of snow. I've stomped my foot in 3" of this snow and it creates a 16" diameter circle. That's not to say I wouldn't love to have a swing wing (I would). It's just to warn that if you get a heavier type of snow you may have difficulty pulling it. But I suppose you could run it at a narrower width.

I wouldnt want to use that for commercial parking lots. I figured that would be good for residential. One clean sweep.
Yes if the snow is heavy you would want to do it in stages of the storm.
That thing looks neat but its spendy.
Dave.
