I just bought this plow and both swivels coming off the pump for angle were leaking. why both. if you know let me know. anyway i ordered some more. so I went to lower it and it lowered fine with the plow on it but then I went to push down on the lift arm with it in float position and it wouldn't go down very easy at all. I had to hit it down to get the chain off.
unimount pro plow 7.5' ? please help

Angles leaking are no big deal. The unimounts are old, so a couple leaks are normal. I replace them every season anyway as part of maintenance.
I have problems with the lift arm when the plow has been sitting for awhile. BUT I never hit it down, I just stand on it and it sinks back in. I'm scared to hear what you hit it with.

LOL I hit it with the shoes that came with it. ha ha ha It was the closest thing I had that was heavy.
It's probably the only time they'll ever come in handy.
No but seriously I tapped it with the shoe and it would go down like a millimeter. I tapped it prolly 30 times to get it to go down enough to get the chain off, but it lowers just fine with the weight of the plow. but not my weight of 150lbs
as far as the swivel connectors i was just wondering if anyone had a theory as to why they both went bad. usually when one goes bad someone replaces it.

I think he meant to get some slack on chains before unhooking plow from truck.

My thoughts exactly! Maybe this is an older setup he has and not a UniMount? ~Mike

Not sure why you want the chain off on a unimount, as I have 2 and have never had to, but NEVER hit the arm! Just put the control on float, and apply pressure, it wil go down. Remember, it is hydraulic, so you are fighting pressure in that system.

Spray some WD-40 or penetrating oil on the packing nut, seal is dried out.
