IH D210 ? I believe and an oshkosh here in Colorado. The dump on the IH is just set on there to keep it off the ground supposedly

I'm not sure I like that plow set up on the IH Howard. You can see the plow attaches just ahead of the rear wheels. It's sure to be stout, but it leaves an awful lot of steel under the truck to get hung up on something. I think it's fair to say that you you get stuck with that truck, you'll really be stuck! There will be a lot of shoveling to be done to free up the plow frame.

This might just be me and my bad eyesight, but does the Oshkosh have crab steering? I could swear that the rear tire is cockeyed? Maybe it’s just an optical illusion?

Oshkosh's have a rear steering axle available. I recall someone posting a video link that showed a green one able to make a U turn on a 2 lane road.

Is that plow actually mounted??
I agree that peticular rig configuration would no doubt be a clearance problem when on a jobsite.
It looks to me as if the actual rig, (plow & harness), was set on the ground and then the truck was parked over top of it.

See the plate just ahead of the rear wheels? There's a hitch pin there that goes through the plow arms. Old Ford 8n tractors had a very similar hitch method. The hoist coincides with this type of plow. The snowblower is mounted to the Oshkosh in a similar fashion.

Pelican's correct. I did look at the oshkosh website and found these video's..http://www.oshkoshtruck.com/airportmunicipal/sproducts~hseries~home.cfm Check out the first one for good shots of the crab steer.

That is one heck of an ugly looking IH too :(

Steve's is right that hitch setup reminds me too of old Farm Tractor hitch systems.......

Hey Howard, while watching CNN this morning the weather guy mentioned your neck of the woods (mentioned Leadville) as having a below freezing morning low, 30F I believe. I guess you really do need these types of machines. :wink

It is 20 degrees here in Dubois, Wyoming at night... Ice on the creek when we get up to the fire...
