I just picked up a 7'6" Boss V yesterday and It came with an 11 pin harness. I bought a 13 pin harness on ebay before I got the plow. I was just wondering what the difference was and if i could just switch the end on the plow or the end on the harness. Thanks.

I can't recall if the 11 and 13 pin can be coupled together and function. I do know that if you're planning on replacing your 11 pin truckside harness with a 13 pin, there are differences in wire coloring. The wiring colors and other good information can be found on Boss's website.

When I bought my RT2 V, I replaced 100% of the plowside wiring, and spliced in a new plug on the truckside, so I have a 13 pin on both sides. The difference in colors are pretty minor on the truckside. I believe the wire colors for the low and high beam headligts were replaced with power for the SmartHitch funtions.. The details on wiring harness and schematics as well can be found here:

Re-reading your post.. I am somewhat confused about what you have what you're planning to do. You bought a 13 pin harness on e-bay. Is that the harness you bought for your truck? Or is that a replacement for the plowside wiring?

I got a Harness on ebay for the truck, It is 13 Pin.The plow is a 11 pin. I beleive it will work. I think the only difference is the smart hitch (11 pin) and smart hitch 2 (13 pin) I just got the mount on the truck today and The wiring will probably be this up comming week.
