Years back I sold both, the 55 Chevy Nomad and Sedan Delivery. The Delivery had an L88 under the hood, with the interior from an Olds (pwr. seat, locking column), SS El Camino drivetrain too. Tubular frame & Calif. rear bumper. Sold it for a boat! Boat seemed to nab the women more anyways until I sold that for a tractor. Tractor planted and grew the vegetables, plowed snow, and other tasks. Now it's retired to just cutting grass! From fast cars to boats n' babes, to cultivating the earth/snow removal to simply cutting the grass .... gosh, I must be getting old!:(

Whats in the galaxie (Is it a galaxie) We have one that shows up at the cal car cruises That I love.
It has a big old 427 side oiler in it with dual quads and headers with 2 shot gun pipes sticking out past the rear bumper ,a sparce interior with a vinyl bench seat an old sun tach planted on the steering colum and about a 30" bent up hurst shifter that just touchs the bench seat in 2nd and fourth .Nasty old cam in the car burning cam 2 racing fuel.It has all of the old stickers on it from the 60's and 70's from the race track/
The owner of the car I would guess is in his seventys And it fun to watch him pull out of the cruies because he give the car a little gas and you can see the front end raising and the rear squating down as he is shifting thru the gears. For sure this car put its milage on a 1/4 mile at a time and I belive with the owner driving it This summer I am going to sit with him and his wife and get some stories from him.
As for your other picture that is quite an undertaking.I am in the process of trying to aquire a 61/62 corvette for a tupe frame convertion.
Good Luck and be safe
and thanks you other guys for the comments.

Nice cars guys. I have always liked the older cars too. 67-69 Camaros, 68-72 Chevelles and there were some others such as the Novas and Barracudas. :shades My uncle Marty has 2 old antique cars, not muscle cars though. He has a 1948 Cadillac convertible and a 1951 Cadillac hardtop. They are both in very very good ORIGINAL condition, not restored. He used to bring them to shows and parades quite often, but hasnt done so in years. They just sit in his garage now. The convertible is really nice, black with a white top, red interior. :) Mike

ih82plow,
The first car is a 1964 Fairlane, with the original 289 Hi-Po motor, 4-speed trans and posi 9". The only things not stock are the rims and tires, the exhaust system, and the hood pins (from a previous owner).
The second car is a 1968 Camaro convertible, about the only sheet metal left original is the firewall, rockers, and the back seat structure LOL. Everything else is aftermarket. I put a 1990 454 with a turbo 400 trans in it, roll cage, and haven't fiqured out what rearend I coming to run yet.
More pics can be seen at my cheesy web site

Ford hipo I had a 65 mustang fast back with a stock289 hipo in it that used to scream ,That was an 80,000 mile motor untouched inside.
As for your rear I would definatley suggest a 12 bolt.
My vette has a 427/425hp in it with an m21 and 411's
Its a blast from stop light to stop light but gets pretty old on a long drive.
I have a rebuilt set of 3:36's I am going to put in for long cruises.
with the 454 you should have plenty of torque available to go with say a nice set of 355's or so
this way you have the best of both worlds

I've been a 60's/70's muscle car freak since I was a kid. I have a 1970 Olds Cutlass w/350 Rocket/4 BBl, and dual exhaust. Not exactly a muscle car, but it is a nice cruiser. I got it from the son of the original owner, who passed away, and he had taken very nice care of the car. It has some dings, and could use new paint, but it is almost 100% original.
Lucky for me, the wife likes going for rides in the summer too, so she doesn't mind me spending the time or $ on it. She'd really love it if it was a convertible:rolleyes: Mike

Rob I grew up with a freind who had one in high school. And he had a slogan painted across the back spoiler that said
The Fun Doesn't Start Till Around 6 Grand
And I just remember how the car would wind up so easey almost like a 2 stroke motor does. What a great motor that was with its giant 202 valves in it.Have you ever had the heads off of it to see what the valves look like ,It was designed to breath.

power through the exhuast till 7500rpm.

It definitely does get crowded there. We're lucky, friends of ours have a place a few minutes away in Bolton Landing, but it is far enough away where it is quiet and we can relax.
