Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
I got an unexpected check in the mail. Seems I was named in a class action lawsuit I didn't even know about. I can't believe it. What am I going to do with this check. I have no clue were to even go to spend this much money. Is there any snowplow equipment out there that I can buy for .o6 cents. That's right, they sent me a check for Zero Dollars and .06 cents, that cost them .37 cents to mail out to me.

If you search real hard you might be able to find a O-ring....of course the shipping will cost you $5!
Pete
That's funnier than the ten cent check I got from Sears when I was in Germany about 30 years ago. I still have that check around here.
Hope it doesn't bounce.
On a serious note, check for a scam. I got something like that the other day, only for a larger amount. On checking close, there was a note on it that by cashing it, I agreed to something (I forget what exactly - I threw the check away). But in a letter, they assured me that the money was mine and urged me to go ahead and cash it whether I wanted their product or not.

It could be some sort of scam. Even though its a great deal of money and it may be hard to rip it up and throw it away, thats what you should do with it. :D Mike ;)
Sounds like you found a pretty wimpy small sized company to defraud or cause damages to you, if that was all they could muster up for a pay out ;) Can't even get a gum ball anymore I believe. Cost you that much in gas if you use the plow truck to take it to the bank LOL.
I just got contacted that us Verizon Wireless (and all entities before that) customers will be getting around a $15.00 credit, and a hands free ear piece. Jackpot! This is all for actions that Verizon says didn't happen. The attorney's fees alone will be around 10 million for this one.

Brl,
I got the same thing... but If I read it right... the $15 credit... is toward renewal fee... not truly a $15 credit... or $3 per month... or $15 in credit toward merchandise.... etc...
In other words... not much saving on this .....
So I think maybe I will offer my own version of a settlement for all my mistreated customers.....
I will offer a 2 for 1 snow plowing for both residential and commercial customers .... I will snow plow 2 times from May 1st to Sept 30th for the cost of 1 snow plow.... or maybe 3 for 1.. to make up for my delayed billing of the customer....
or maybe unlimited snowplowing for June July and Aug all for just $100???

Mick,
Dont make me come up to Maine this summer and take all your summer customers....
I will not only snow plow there driveway... but also they get a free Ice Cream cone with every plowing!! all for the low prices of
$35!!!!!!!!!!
Pete :D
$35 to plow my driveway all summer and a FREE ICE CREAM CONE with each plowing?
What a deal!!! Heck, I'll hire you.:D
You might want to be careful, though. I've actually gotten snow in May.
That's funny Pete & Mick!
Actually Pete, you don't have to renew to get a credit. If you do use it toward a renewal you will get a bigger amount than if it is just applied to your bill, which I believe it said would be a over a 3 month period

Hey guys- I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for ten years now ( Started with Frontier, then as they changed throughout the mergers) I have not heard anything about a credit being issued. where did you hear this? I will be calling my buddy on Monday to see if he's heard anything, but this is new to me.

It should show up in your next bill, if not a separate mailing. I got an email because they have my addy for online bill processing?

I think it was AT&T Universal credit cards, IIRC. I got an 8 cent check, and a $1.11 check.Sure we didn't make any money off it, but think of how much the lawyers made! Ri****ulous, IMO. If that was the compensation for the alleged wrongdoing that we were supposedly subjected to, I don't think it did anyone any good. Seriously, jsut a legal boondoggle.
Interestingly enough, it came nearly the same day as a $2.50 "scamvertising" offer. On the back where you're endorsign it you are agreeing to a annual membership in something or other.

I just got one from a huge credit card company for $0.88! It's the lawyers that make out on those deals not the little guys like us:headwall
