On the dump body there are two break lights (red). Is it ok to switch these out to amber strobes? I have the turn signals, reverse, and break lights beneath the dump body attached to the frame. Is there something that says I have to have the upper red lights?

As long as you have two brake lights to the rear, you've got DOT requirements covered. The switch to amber would be ok.

That would be nice already have the holes made for ya. If ya put a sander on ther you can always put a couple more up top and use your trailer plug for it just in the winter.

I'd keep them. Most people tend to focus on the dump body, not underneath when looking for brake lights. They are easy to see up top,and could prevent an accident.

If you are looking to add some Roud or oval amber strobes the Nova SMT series is a good choice...
