I purchased a set of tail/turn/stop lights for my 84 that are temporarily being mounted to a wooden flatbed while the box is getting redone. What I did was join the connection from the kit to my trailer connection on the truck, attached white ground wire to the frame, and mounted the lights to the bed.Are most tail lights kits grounded through the light housing along with the regular white ground wire?I have purchased this kit many times for boat and utility trailers with no problems but have always mounted them directly to metal frames. The double filament bulbs only have 2 wires so I'm assuming that I need to ground the light housings to the frame because they are currently mounted to wood?any ideas,I'm electrically naive-Thanx in advance

yes on truck lights it is usually the metal body that is the ground for the bulb. which makes no scence since it has two wires. but just add a ground to one of the screws holes and youll be good to go. it may work with just the two wires, not always the case though.

I attached a ground wire to both light housings and screwed it to the frame-everything's working great now-thanx
