Fellow Torontonians,

A new local landscape association is being formed in the G.T.A.

It is mainly built in order to get better rates for its members in the following fields:

Ensurance, equiptment, auto shops, supply, legal assistance & much more.

Our first meeting will be held this week on thursday night.

We will be happy to see you all there,

Please contact me through the forum or e-mail me : jhc_landscaping@yahoo.com for further detailes.

Hope to hear from you,

Johnny

John are you thinking primarily snow or all aspects of the landscape industry? We do a lot of landscape work in the GTA, some there in Thornhill actually, plowing is restricted to SW Ont but I'd be interested in meeting up, this week is out for me. Keep me posted on future events.

Synner,

We are focusing on all aspects including landscaping (soil, seeds, sod , fertilizer and stone supply) - mainly in getting suppliers who will give us better prices in order to recieve a higher volume of business.

We would also look for better insurance deals for the group (auto, liability and even personal) and try to work with a couple of good dealers for plows and lawn equiptment.

As individuals our power is limited - but as a group - we can move things to our direction!

I'll update you for any development-

Johnny

I'm a member of Landscape Ontario and just sent in my $400 renewal. I'd be interested to read this thread if it continues, to see how this new organization might compare to LO.

Dear friends,

Due to the snow that might or might not show up on Thursday (I hate that Harold Hussein...) and a few guys that asked if we could move the date,
We rescheduled the meeting for Monday March 6th 2006.

The time and location are the same: 8:00 p.m at the thornhill community centre.

Please contact me for confirmation, further information and directions at:
(416) 779 - 6655 .

To the question if only Torontonians are welcomed- ALL ARE WELCOME!

This association will try to get better rates on things that are helpful no matter where you come from, such as : Car and business insurance, Legal Assistance, Web Sites Design, Stone Fertilizer and Seed supply, Plow sales and installation, Lawn care equipment and much more.

I do believe that most of our suppliers will be from the G.T.A area, but, I would have driven to Barrie to get 15% on a new plow or send my paper work to an insurance agent there for a good discount...

The main focus is on the fact that we are trying to create a non profit organization unlike you know who... in which we are all equal no matter how big or small your business is...

I will be happy to provide you with more details by phone.

Thank you in advance-

Jonathan

I can be there for Monday too.

I can offer discounts on new plows and equipment,Urethane products, and truck repairs as well.

I may also have a line on wholesale truck pricing, with new plows included. This will allow you to buy a new truck, plow, and spreader, and finance it through the manufacturers at very low rates. Not sure if the deal will be done in time, but I'm working on it.

We had a very nice meeting- wish more could attend - there were about 8 companys represented.

The info that we got and shares is worth its weight in gold!

We will probably have more of these get together in the near future - nobody wanted to leave :)

I will update for further developments -

I emailed Johnny on what format the meeting was going to take as I would like to do the same thing here in Vernon. I'm assuming the format was a general Q and A type of meeting I would like to know what you guys did so that I can learn from it, and apply it to any meeting we might strart up here.
I know Johnny will be updating me as well, but I'd like to here from the attendees as well.

Another meeting sounds like a great idea. I'd like to know how everyone's landscaping season is going.

I think Richmond Hill or Thornhill again would be good. Seems central to just about everyone.
