Is there a dump box insert for a 6.5 foot box truck? I am contemplating a dump box insert for my truck, but I have never seen one in a short box. I know I do have the option of just the hydraulics to make my original bed dump, but I would rather have the insert. Also, what can I expect to pay for one of these set-ups?
Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure both those companies make one for a short box. Mine is a 8ft ez dumper and I paid $3000 canadian for it 3 years ago. It has worked flawlessly for me, the only thing it needed was a recent paintjob.

EZ dumper for sure makes one, I just looked at one thursday. Im getting an 8 ft easy dumper here in the spring. $3200 CND installed plus tax. I also negotiated in a set of rear timbrens, which wouldnt be a bad idea in a shortbox application either cause you cant get the weight ahead like in a long box.

Kdog..

I was looking for the same thing and yes there is one that is reasonable in price. The cost was just under 2K. It Precision truck body in NH. try www.precisiontbec.com or 800-662-6488.

I am still mulling over which way to go as I have a pending divorce hanging over my head now .. it makes some decisions tougher

Hope this helps somewhat ...

Talk to Ron\4evergreenlawns. He has a bunch of good and bad experience with inserts.

I checked into a insert for one of my 6.5 beds and all my local dealers, ez-dump, downeastern, truck craft all could order me one but they all wanted about 1,000 to 1,500 more than what I paid for the 8ft inserts. So I never got one and hope to find one used some day.

Downeaster has them. I got my 8ft for $1995 last month, I am coming down that way in a month, let me know and I can do delivery for you for a little payup
Really good units. 4evergreen has 2 downeasters and likes them as well. They are built up here.

Come on up, Costal Metal fab is a cool place! Or let me know and I can grab it and meet you part way for a few bucks. I am always looking for reasons to go visit my college buddies!

Ray .. this is for a 6.5 foot insert, and one other nice thing about getting them from NH, no sales taxs.. I know its a lot longer of a ride for you ... for me its a couple of hours. Look like I will probably be heading up that way soon... before I get swamped...

Thanks for all the info guys! I am also still on the fence here on this one. I would definetely LIKE one, but probably not get enough use out of one. But it would be fun to have!!
