I recently purchased a used e60 with electrotouch. Took it to the Meyer dealer to go thru it and fix any problems. They replaced the motor cover, seal kit, wear ring, B cartridge valve, and kit pressure relief valve. Told me it was as good as new. I live 120 miles from the dealer. Problem arose first time plowing after about 20 minutes the plow just would not raise. No warning, slowness or freezing. Backed it into my heated garage. Next morning still would not work. Followed Meyer service manual. Unit would move left and right, but would not lift over 1 inch. I replaced the A valve and coil. Worked great, plowed most of the next day. Came home plowed my own property and failed to lift again. Backed back into the garage again, and checked all connections, cleaned all grounds and contacts. Still would not lift. Next morning worked great again. Intermittent loss of raising the blade has been limited to my own property so far. Can't have this happen when I leave home. Stumped. I have to wait until it happens again to check the b coil magnetism. Any ideas will be appreciated.

I had the same thing happen to me with a new e-60 pump. My old e-60 only had one terminal on the motor and the new pump had two a positive and a ground. Meyer has a service bulletin for the two post you have to run another ground cable over and onto the pump itself so it is grounded properly. Mine wiuld lift sometimes and then would not others until I done this. Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for the reply. It has a power lead and a ground lead to the pump. I cleaned both and also the motor selenoid. I am beginning to think that it might be in the touch pad. The float light, which is usually bright red, would fluctuate to a much lighter red and nothing could get the float light to go off. I just located the off on switch on the touchpad and didnt know it was there. Does the old style floatpad show an overload condition?
The Unit is working right now so I will have to wait for it to fail to check further. Almost out of ideas and down to the harness and/or switchpad.
THanks.

check your down coil with an ohm meter, should be around 7 ohms give or take. Sounds like it might be getting hot and shorting out internally after you run it awhile.

The other problems we have seen with the touch pads is that the ground at the battery for the pump and the control are corroded ( control is the orange ring terminal wire ) both should be to the battery. Also have seen the power tap in the cab loose contact or make poor contact.

After 2 frustrating weeks, and replacing what didn't need to be replaced, the problem was in the touchpad. It would short out and not allow the A valve to close. Disconnect the black wire and reconnect and the problem went away until the next time it shorted out. Replaced the touch pad and so far the problem has not reappeared.
Thanks to all who responded. Now if they would just lower the price of the touchpads........lol
