Just picked up an 06 ram and need to know where the best spot to put the strobes in the front head lamps would be, they will be amber.

thanks for your help.

Hey Congrats on the new Ram, the 06's sure are nice, I kind of wish I had waited to get an 06 instead of hte 05 but hey I love it too... Just a word of caution I am not sure about the 06's but the 05's headlamp assmebly has portions that were double walled and was causing some fogging problems, I am sure there is a way to seal them well but just something to consider. I would conside in the grille as it would still be stealthy and would not chance damaging some REALLY expensive headlamp assemblies.

In NYS (and most other states too) it's illegal to run strobes or any type of warning lights in the headlights. :nope

Brave. I've only had 1 experience with a NY cop, and he was a d&*k.

Putting it right next to the bulb would maybe only affect the beam a little bit, if at all. I haven't seen a close up of the headlight assembly in a while, but you should be ok.

Which strobe package did you get? 4 head, 6, 8? If you got a 6 or 8, you could double up on the strobes in each headlight assembly. Put 1 strobe on each side of the assembly, or top and bottom. Doubles up that way.

If you are plowing with this truck you WILL be getting flash back off the blade and just about half the time NO ONE is going to see the strobe flashing. If you really want warrning power up front and lower than the roof line while plow get the mini strobe heads mounted in the plow marker lights.

I have tried and/or considered just about every application of lighting combos. Strobes in the headlights just not something worth the time or money for the results you get. Even better than strobes up front would be some of the new thin Nova leds with built in flasher. Mount a couple of those to the plow frame. A simple Weather pack three or four wire plug run a pos. to a switch ground to the plow frame and I would bet you money you will get better results and much less problems.

Just something to think about.

I used a die grinder to get the strobe mounted into the second wall and used hi temp silicone to get a nice water proof seal. Now I also live in a Denver so it will never see the humidity above 30% so I shouldn't have any problems.
