Hi
I just installed the Headlamp harness and Isolation module in my 2001 Ford Excursion, I Do not have the control or main power harness installed I turn my headlamps on (without plow lights hooked up) and the passenger side lo-beam comes on and No Low Beam on the drivers side! If I put the High beams on I get both lights on high beam.
Is this occuring because I dont have the complete harness and control installed? Or is there a wire crossed somewhere? or do I need a ground somewhere? or do I have a bad Isolator?
According to Fishers manual all of the harnesses are the correct numbers and the Isolator is the correct number.
I did check the harness for continuity and all the wires checked out ok.
Can anyone offer me some advice? where should I start checking or should I wait until all the harnesses are installed?
Thanks

You need to finish installing the other harness'. You will end up picking up power and ground for the lights and iso mod.
Dont feel bad, your not the first to try and get the lights to work without everything installed and hooked up.
If things dont work after you get everything hooked up, let me know and we will get it straightened out.

Crash to the rescue!
Thanks for the positive info! @ 9pm last night and working on the job since 5:30 PM I was at my witts end! and didn't know which way was up, but I did know enough to ask for help here.
I'm looking at the installtion instructions and I can now see why it can't work, Dah! Sometimes the right advice and a good night's sleep helps relieve a ton of stress.
Oh by the way Crash was my nick name in high school, thats how I got in to the Auto Body business, I couldn't afford to keep paying for my mistakes, so I became a self taught Auto Collision tech. Now some twenty eight years later, I've owned a full collision repair shop, ASE & I-Car Certified, AWS Certified welder, Dupont Auto Refinish Certified Tech and Teaching the Collision repair trade!

Thanks again Crash!

hopefully you got it all hooked up without anymore problems?
Wish i could same my screen name was as fruitful, mine actually came from a night of plowing with my brother, we were running laps in a lot and it was getting deep at the end so i cut in a little deeper and my brother thought i was going to keep going straight when i turn back to the direction we had been going, didnt know he was as close, luckily we were talking on the radio also so he yelled crash into the radio, i hit the brakes while he was already on them, sliding right for the side of my truck, only left a slight dent in the door but that got everyone else going on the radio and by time the conversation was over my truck was totalled. Coffeee that morning started "hey crash" as i walked in the door.

Hey Guy's
Just wanted to let everyone know , I finished my plow installation, got the remaining harneses from Jerre and everything works great!
Tomorrow I have to re-adjust the chain and A-Frame ( not running parallel to the ground) and re-aim the headlamps.
Then I only need one more thing....... SNOW!
Thanks for all the help, it made it a fun project!
