Well I finally bit the bullet and bought a new lightbar. I was hoping to add a little more warning power and cut down on amps at the same time. I'm hoping this is a nice compromise. While definately not cheap, it will definately serve the purpose I want it to.
Whelen Edge 9000 series. 4 front strobes, 2 rear strobes, 4 flashing halogen lights, rear work lights, LED brake/turn/ lights. Includes a hi/low intensity option (for day or night operation) and front light cutoff, which will come in handy. Now everyone can call me "Flasher Boy" too. Buhahah.
All I have at this point are the Fee-Bay pictures since I just ordered it this evening. But you get the idea. I'll be sure to post some pics in a week or two when I get it mounted up.

Well congrats on the new bar.I have a whelen too I got the new patriot model but i did have the 9000 series It was a cheaper model it only came with alleys and rear take downs 8 strobe it had no flashers or brake lights. I assume this is a used model? One thing you might want to check on the corner strobes is to make sure they are tight in there .Mine would get loose and not work but after a sanding and tightening they work good .

Strobes are GREAT to be seen. Hope you do not have any kind of motion sickness. Only draw back is the flash back from the strobes during a heavy snowfall. Otherwise that is a K.A. lightbar.

I do get motion sickness.. so we'll have to see. It does have a nighttime intensity, so that should cut down on flashback a little bit.
The way it's looking now, I don't know if I'll get it it or not. I'm rather concerned. I've already gone through and paid the guy with PayPal, now today I get an e-mail from E-Bay saying the listing was "against e-bay policy" and has been removed. All results null and void, blah blah blah. I'm assuming because of the red lenses pictured on the bar. Which is ridiculous, cause they're brakelights. I can't imagine what else would've been against policy.
Now I'm really nervous, cause I don't know if they guy is going to send me the bar or not. I haven't heard anything back from him yet..

Yeah ebay's policies are kind of crazy they pretty much require clear lenses on emergency lighting, that is one of the reasons I like the LED's they are clear until they are turned on; but I hope you get that light bar looks like a nice setup... Have you tried sending him a E-bay message directly?

I got ahold of him. He finally sent a response. Guess he must have taken the weekend off or something. Said he'll be shipping it very shortly.

:rockon :shades2 :shades2 well thats cool congrats it will look nice on your truck.
I personally cant take strobes in a snow storm. When they are roof mounted strobes they give me a massive headache. Good luck in your new light bar......Rob

first thing first as a ebayer, have you contacted him since the last time you posted? If the answer is yes what was his reply. Second question is was his paypal verified, if yes you are not screwed; that is one reason I use Paypal for my customers. Let me know if I can help you with any of it as you should not come out on the bottom side of this mess you have rights with paypal and e-bay.

I have contacted him several times since the auction ended. The first time to verify that he would put mounting feet on for me before he shipped. He responded and said no problem. Told me he would be shipping the bar out soon. I sent an e-mail back. Said thanks. Made some generall chit chat cause I was curious where he came across all these lightbars at. He sent me another e-mail back after that. I hadn't checked back in his e-bay store until tonight. He's had it listed since shortly after the last e-mail he sent me.
He is PayPal verified. But, the only concern I have is that e-bay canceled his listing because the picture showed a red lense. Thing is.. they did it AFTER I had already sent the payment. So now I have way to even leave feedback if he is trying to screw me over. :headwall
Something I forgot to add... for ease of communication, I have even included my cell phone number in every e-mail I have sent him in case there were any issues.

do you have the link to the canceled listing if so it should have the time and date of cancellation and of course paypal does also I would contact paypal immediatly and let them know what is going on, also contact ebay services and let them know what is happening. I looked though his feedback and it seems a few times he has done something simalar to people. You should not have too many issues getting this resolved you have the proof in your favor; and fact is simple that you did pay for an item number under paypal that did exist at one point in time...

Just a little update.
After repeated e-mails to this seller, he finally sent me a tracking number. I checked it on UPS. Payment for shipment was just recieved yesterday (Feb 22), two weeks after he recieved payment, which was on Feb 6th. . Also, in his e-mail, he stated that UPS had been breaking a lot of his products during shipping, and if this happens... blah blah blah. He'll pay for return shipping and all that.
So, I fully expect to recieve a broken lightbar. However, something tells me its not going to have anything to do with UPS. :headwall

If it comes damaged before you even open it make sure to take pictures of the packaging, If it is broken take pictures of how it was packed in etc. It sounds like this guy is a scam artist and if it comes broken I would seriously think about turning him into e-bay and or paypal... Thats just not right.

To answer MC's question, the bar came. The box was a little banged up, but the bar is in good working order. Supposed to be a nice warm sunny day tommorow, and now that I have a little better game plan, should get it mounted up. Although, I can't say that it's going to do me any good for the rest of this season. I think winter is officially over for us. March is supposed to be Minnesota's biggest snow month. But with temps in the low 40s, I just don't see it. :wah

Well it's finally on the truck. Some pics, as promised. The second picture was taken the day after the install when I realized the open toolbox really blocked the mounting feet and such. On the upside, the bar is just high enough so that when the lid is open, it's not blocking the worklights.
Some install details that I know some of you crave. If you look at the back of the cab, you'll notice the black tubing following the outline of the rear window. This fits very snugly between the bed and the cab. Beats drilling a hole in the roof, or having the wires hanging out the doorframe. And, running down the driver's side put me right next to the bundle of wiring I needed to tie into to make the brake/tail/turn lights work.

I'd say I got more lucky that the thing was intact when it got to my house. Take a look at the nice big hole in the box. :geez
