I had it done on my 96 GM 350. It like dialysis for vehicles.

Did I notice a difference NOP dont think so. This is suposed to clean the fuel injection system.

I demo a motorvac unit and sent it back .

It is not just fuel injection it also is a decarbonizer for valves and intake.

Otc makes two products that work far better and requires simple equipment to run product. Otc 7000 is probley the best fuel injection cleaner for a machine out there i own there machine. There decarbonizer i bought a case and got the tool for free it works very well.

A shop and a person who doesnt understand motorvac's operation could honestly do damage to a engine.

Little class here when carbon deposits build up on the back side of intake valves the carbon acts like a sponge and soaks some of the fuel the injector is trying to deliver this leads to rough idle and stumble and a host of driveabilty issues including SES lights . So preforming a decarbon process if done right is a benifit to a engine, same with cleaning injectors with a machine.

You can decarbonize an engine just as well with a can of Ford Tune up cleaner.Part # is CXC-52B.Run the engine until hot, then spray the entire can into the carb\throttle body, while keeping the engine just barely running. When the can is empty, let the motor stall, and let it sit for 20-30 mins. Then take it ot for a good long drive and beat the living snot out of it.It will clean it out,and you will notice a big difference.

Ford had a lot of problems with carbon buildup back in the late 80,and early 90's.It would get so bad,the car would be a complete dog.Ford's fix was remove the injectors, and blast the valves with crushed walnuts. It worked, but it was time consuming.A can or two of Ford Tune up cleaner would accomplish the same thing, and clean the entire throttle body and intake system as well.We never used the walnut blaster after we found this out. :D

How often should you de carbonize the engine and how often should you clean the fuel injection system? My 02 6.0 is close to the 100'000k mark probably not a bad idea to perform this service? Preventative maintained?

I used a spray bottle and just plain water sprayed into the carb as it was running at about 1100rpm. It would keep the intake side of the motor clean and carbon free. I'm sure it's old school though even though I am not old.
