you should be able to take jumper cables from batt to the pump to just make it raise only correct? Im thinkin the electric motor is bad cause it wont raise when i do this.. it tries for a second but then stops. I dont have my joystick hooked up yet, but i wanna raise the plow so i can look to see if all frame work is tight. This is a western unimount im putting on my truck.

If you do it that way, I would recommend to have a helper. Have someone inside the cab hold the raise function on the controller while you momentarily connect the battery cables. If you leave constant power to the pump without the pump actually doing anything, you would be putting unneccesary stress on both the pump and your electrical system, similair to what happened to another member when the solenoid on their plow was stuck on.

Sorry to tell you Ron that it isn't going to raise..
You need to operate the the correct valves on the power unit at the same time the motor operates to get the plow to raise.
Get the truck side set up first then you can check the plow operation.
 John...

You cannot just connect booster cables to a Western SEHP and expect it to raise.
If you just need to get it up,use a floor jack to raise the blade, then short chain it (move it up at the lift arm),to get the blade in the air.

I didn't realize that you didn't have any of the wiring harnesses in at all. Silly me.
